Now that the end of the Transfer Window is creeping up on us, I find it somewhat reassuring that there are no serious rumours eminating from "those in the know" about Heinz Muller. Is this because there are no serious bids on the table or are the club playing it really close to their chest bearing in mind the current apparent air of discontent?

On the other hand, nobody appears to be coming in for any of the "dead wood" either. This is a litte more worrying bearing in mind a rumour on the 606 board that Macken & Da Silva had been signed but couldn't join the club 'til Colgan, Reid, AJ etc had gone to free up some of the wage bill!

Maybe because of his indifferent form lately?

He's a good keeper but something has affected his game - maybe a niggling injury, lack of competition, unsettling rumours, run of bad results etc etc - whatever it is something has affected him.

It will all happen on the last few days of January - when desperate clubs descend on listed players like drunken lads swarming round the last remaining single lassies 15 mins before closing time in a night club.

mind you the ones remaining were usually rank if we want to extend the analogy further...lets hope we don't end up with the footballing equivilant of bianca from eastenders..

Muller and the transfer window. Was that the dissapointing follow up to Jaimie and the Magic Torch?

    That's the worry

And the reason why the transfer window system is rank bad.

It's exciting (who will forget that day when we signed Stan and Pete from Hungary) but I get the distinct impression that clubs will sign anybody just to shut the fans up for a bit. It just might give us the chance to unload the fringe players - despite the insults they get on here most of them are decent league one/two players who should find a club with no problems.

Either get rid of the window system altogether or just have it in the summer.

You are starting to worry me !!

Stop talking sense on here .
I like the phrase " Like a Harrods sale " you know, if you dont get there early all the bargains have gone and you end up with having to buy a carrier bag, just to prove you actually did try to get something.
Last Year our carrier bag was Grant McCann, this year who knows.

    Sorry! Didn't realise!

Shall I go back to posting about penguins and submarines then? :D :D

I agree - most clubs are guilty of panic buys on deadline day IMO. I won't criticise the team, management or board until at the very earliest the end of Jan, and probably not even then. At the end of the season we will see how well the club has been managed this season.

However, I respect the right of everyone to criticise as they see fit, provided it is not just mindless personal abuse.
