Let's not forget he has suddenly become **** since his mistake against Watford so let's get rid Short memories some people
Good keeper that has been out of form for months Never been the god that people thought he was just because he makes routine saves look good by diving late or poor positioning meaning ful stretch saves are necessary. Excellent back up to steele though
Its as simple as this.... 600k euros is around £500k. Could we replace Muller with some1 as good or even better for that much??? Simple answer NO... As we only have 2 keepers on the books at the moment selling Muller would be criminal and leave us weak in an area of the squad that I see as one of our stongest!! On the other hand if the Bid was £1m then I think we should let him go as he is in the last year of his contract!!
he should be battling to be number 1 he's class and anyone that disagrees is deluded and probably voted for the BNP.
But he's foreign and working over here nicking an Englishman's job. Send him home. Probably a fascistanyway, who won the war?
How much are we paying Muller? That's probably a more significant issue. I'd question the sanity of having TWO excellent goalkeepers (we can only play one) when that salary could be put towards improving the strike force.
RE: Its as simple as this.... Maybe he's unhappy? Probably didn't take too kindly to being dropped. He's a good keeper, but he's not been as good as he was before his injury. Half a million is a fair bit considering we got him for peanuts and he's only got a year left on his contract.
I'd rate him a bit better than "Good" He's been superb. Unfortunately, he got a bad injury and I feel he was brought back too soon. The crowd has been "on his back" for quite some time now and I think his confidence has suffered somewhat. The issue is whether or not he will be able to return to the form he showed before.
And I think that Simon Daveys use of the reserve team and our withdrawel from the league for the coming season will have played a big part. Davey didn't allow him to get back to match fitness n the reserves and it showed and now he will have no chance to prove himself again in the reserves because we have just got rid of them. The only place he has left is the first team and steele cant be dropped again to make way for him when he has done nothing wrong (again)
Fair point I still think you are little bit harsh on Heinz though (for the reasons I stated above). If you don't mind me saying so, a feel a little bit of the hostitlity directed towards Muller DOES stem from the fact that Steele was unfairly treated. I'm more than happy with EITHER Steele or Muller...

Don't get me wrong, if we didn't have Steele I would be more than happy with Muller being number 1 because he is an excellent keeper. The problem is that so is steele and I think that on the form displayed over the last year then Steele has to be number one and Muller number two until such a time as Steele makes a series of mistakes and Mullers reserve (god knows what happens now actually) performances are better than Steeles first team ones. I've always thought that Muller is an excellent keeper but he isn't the faultless player that a lot of people think he is. A lot of his miraculous saves that he made for us would have looked routine if pulled off by other keepers while Muller makes them look good. It's obviously worked for him though so there is nothing wrong with it but looking objectively you have to ask why does Muller have to pull finger tip saves off a few times every match while other keepers do not? The answer is that muller doesn't 'need' to either. He is a keeper who's style is that of making a great display and whilst it is great to look at it is no more effective than Steeles simple style.
I can assure you now Muller is far too serious, and unconcerned with football in general, to be bothered about 'putting on a display'.
