Muller is still letting in 2 goals per game about the same as Colgan averaged last season. He may be better than Colgan or he may not - its hard to tell so far. I still think Colgan has been singled out unfairly and definitely isnt the root cause of our defensive ineptitude
Colgan WAS our defensive frailty last season. So many times he let soft goals in, so many times crosses he should have come for turned into goals. Muller may be conceding two goals per game, but can you name me one goal that you can honestly say he should have saved?
The ones Jay said Especially the Plymouth ones First a cross that everyone would have said Colgan should have claimed Second - beaten at his near post - really should have saved it. Not saying he is worse or better than Colgan - its really too soon to tell - but I do think that Colgan got unfairly blamed for a lot
Sorry I just didnt understand that owen got skill for that leauge not are league we did good How does that agree or disagree with Jay saying you could blame the keeper?
RE: The ones Jay said he let in 85 goals i think around that that isnt good for the league we play in
Agree entirely It's probably harsh to criticise Muller for those goals, but Colgan would have got it in the neck had he conceded them. I don't know who is the better 'keeper, it's too early to tell, but I do know Colgan was unfairly blamed for our defensive frailties last season, frailties that have continued despite the change in goalkeeper.
RE: Agree entirely i think Colgan didnt shout at the defence as much as muller does and comes out of his net
First Goal At Colchester I know Kozluk shouldn't have been left standing, but anything happening in the six yard box should be commanded by the keeper and so Teddy shouldn't have scored.
You cannot blame Muller for either the Plymouth goals, and defineatly cant for the Owen goal. The first Plymouth goal was a cracking cross, our defence was all over the place and it was a great finish. The second, our defender got turned far too easily, Muller did well to save the first shot, but who was tracking back to the far post? where was werling? thats one example why we need to play 4-4-2. And Owen's, well one on one with Owen, is there many keepers in the world who'll come off best?
Oh my god, how can you blame Muller for the first at Colchester? it was a low cross that was too far out for him to come and get at the pace it was travelling.
