Whenever the disaster is mentioned the large majority of people only mention Tommy Taylor as a Barnsley born player that died that night. Mark Jones also died, and he was from Wombwell.

The reason that Tommy Taylor is mentioned is because he played for Barnsley though, Jones didn't.

Are we having a minutes' silence as well then on Saturday?

Or is there one at every match anyway?

    Another Barnsley link

Ray Wood (the goalie who survived the crash) played for BFC at the end of his career

2 out of the 8 players that died were Barnsley lads.......just shows the talent around here then

And the talent is still there now but harder to find (ok, probably not as good as these two lads tho)

David Pegg was from near Doncaster...

Don't know whether he gets mentioned in Donny, but he dosn't get mentioned all that much around these parts. Another class player.
