I think some are still waiting for the club's offical statement before it's believed to be remotely true..
Si thi. https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/2021/july/Dane-Murphy-appointed-Chief-Executive-Officer/
Not sure how he turned our club around. Was he the head coach? Did he keep the clean sheets? Score the goals? Keep the players free from injuries? Interesting they make it sound like they beat a few clubs to getting him. I wonder who they were.
Hes joined Forest he's speaking like he's joined Man City, they won the European cups over 40 years ago and haven't troubled the top flight for the best part of nearly 25 years.
What I love is that they make it sound like Dane is wholly responsible for our upturn in performance. Think they might want to realise our plan was in play even before he joined.
He was a small but significant cog in a massive* machine. No individual is responsible for our success. * Massive, as in the traditional sense of the word, not the Sheffield interpretation.
The only thing that gets my goat is that everything is for sale at Barnsley F.C. I remember when CEO was a job for life. What next the ticket office staff being head hunted by Ticketmaster?
From a Dane, to a Swede, eh? I thought there would be norway that could ever happen. Have you heard that Swedish and Danish warships are now equipped with QR codes, for when the vessels return home? They can just scan da navy in.
I was a bit 'meh' about Dane in his first year or so. There were many threads asking 'what does he do' and 'why does he not communicate'. There was indeed a lesson learned when the ownership held their hands up and said comms could be better, and yes he spoke eloquently thereafter, but still nowhere near as often as he could have. The business-speak and Americanisms were sometimes lost on me. The mediocre, or no-more-than-expected CEO performance from him was kind of lost in the Euphoria of the season we had, where to be honest, people were as likely to put the success down to Whitey or Beth as they were to Dane. He goes with my best wishes (I suppose) but I'll not miss him greatly. He's going to have to be a lot more vocal for that lot, as they will be expecting a lot more than mere Divisional Retention. Bye.
Slightly concerned that in this article he didn't mention or thank BFC for his time with us. Deeply honoured, or should that be honored, to get the job at Forest, thanks Barnsley for your part in my career ascension.
He loves mentioning the loyal season pass members and their unwavering support. Good luck to him. No idea how much of our success can be attributed to him, but he seemed like a decent bloke.
