Got a simple music question and its a matter on your own views no right or wrong answer just interested.

Whose the best composer Hans Zimmer or John Williams

Both the fantastic but who do you prefer?

    For me it's Hans Zimmer.

Crikey, tough one! Almost as difficult as the Father Damo question to Dougal - "Oasis or Bloor?" ;)

I have to say John Williams, though.

John Williams. It might have been different if you'd said John Williams v Tony Hatch.

Far too obscure for me. If you had said Mark Linkous or Daniel Johnston, I might have had a clue. But even then I'd have them in an enclosed space, naked with sharpened sticks - fighting to the death to decide who is best and whether it really matters...?

My favourite modern composer for films is - by a million zillion miles - Rachel Portman. Has done loads but my favourite piece has to be the outro to the movie Ratcatcher (my 2nd favourite film of all time) and Withnail & I. Also the smashing little film - Life Is Sweet by Mike leigh has a great soundtrack by Rachel, very well trained but quirky and original. :)

Hans Zimmer's scores consist of The Batman trilogy, true romance, Inception.
