Can anyone remember Sheffield united selling out the north stand and the west stand. United fan claims they have - I say they haven't.
They brought a few in the Hume game if I recall and the season they did us one nowt but as a rule, they'd struggle to fill a bath in barnsley never mind a 6500 capacity stand.
1990. Drew 2-2 at United's place then two replays at Oakwell. Drew the first 0-0, lost the second 1-0. Plus there were a couple of postponements due to snow. Got our revenge a couple of weeks later when we beat them at their place 2-1 in the league. They did bring a lot to those games, but that was on a muck stack, not a 6,500 seater stand.
I have a bad memory too - The Fowls have sold out the North stand and half the West and I am sure Leeds have as well but I dont remember the Blunts even selling out the North and asking for extra tickets let alone selling out the West as well
Since i've been watching us they've never filld the away end. Think most they've brought in the new North stand is about 4,000.
That game when Da Silva and Ugo Ehiogh got sent off their were 19,000+ at that game but cant for the life of me remember if they had part of side stand as well. Talking recent years like.
Remember that game well, I got ejected from Bumhole Lane by SYP For telling a ball boy to f--k off. After he gave the Reds fans the finger and calling us wan---s In the league game when we won, was that when Martin Bullock scored with a miskick 3 yards out.
8th November 2008, 19,002 was the attendance. They sold out the North and West Upper, they weren't given the lower west. I seem to recall 500 tickets being made available in the West Stand. Aye found this after they had sold out the North... An extra 500 tickets will be available from Thursday morning (6th Nov) for the Barnsley match this Saturday. No, it was a few years before we got Bullock. All the goals here: *WARNING* skip to 1'51 and turn it off before 3'46 or you'll be watching their cup run.
This is the game where they sold the North and had 500 in the West Upper. You can see it on this video (sorry it won't embed) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_rK8W05jik They also sold out the North the year before when Billy Sharp scored the winner.
Cheers really couldn't remember - it was the game hulme fell onto morgan's elbow apparently. Few didn't turn up last time they came though
I Remember them selling out the north stand. There were loads in fancy dress. As storm troupers, scooby and more
FA Cup game, 2-2 - didn't Mark Smith score the second, maybe Cooper the first. The replay was postponed due to winds damaging part of the brewery stand. They eventually knocked us out with an Agana 89th minute penalty. Saville scored the winner at the kop end in the 2-1 game, we wore the dark blue away Shaw Carpets shirt. Can't remember what l had for dinner though.
So what, we regularly sold out at Bumhole Lane, both upper and lower tiers even when the lower tier was standing. They'll say it was another Cup final like we have at Swillsborough and Bellend Road every season.
