Not included in the squad last night... thought he looked solid when he came on, on saturday... James Bree and Dale Jennings also omitted... I back DW. But he has made but a few tactical gaff's and odd team selections recently... We looked far better on Daturday when Bailey went off and Berry played in defensive midfield role. But last night Bailey is back. Treacy scores against Chesterfield, looked creative when he came on against Scunny but doesn't get a start. Cole was in great form and looked dangerous playing as central striker, but looks out of sorts playing out wide and form has dipped. How are the likes of Phenix and McHale performing, looking forward to seeing these guys step in to first XI. Lots of questions DW, FA Cup I would start with Lita, Treacy and Jennings if fit... If we can get these lads fit and playing well they could light up this league.
Injured I believe. I completely disagree. Scunny had numerous chances to wrap the game up from that point forward and we had to thank Turnbull for a few good saves. We, on the other hand, created nothing. He was awful when he came on yesterday and showed us all why he's not getting a start.
Scunny only had two real chances once Bailey went off, it was hardly numerous. We had three or four. Cole blasting over from six yards, Berry shying away from planting a header, Hemmings being slow to get a low shot away, and Hemmings with a pass back header to the keeper.
I remember Turnbull making three good saves, I don't remember their keeper making one of any description. We created one chance all half, Cole blasted it over. I thought that was before we subbed Bailey, but I'll take your word for it if it was after.
You might be right on the Cole chance, but the other three I mentioned were all chances. Berry should have absolutely buried that header, and if Hemmings glanced that header from six yards in the opposite corner that was a goal.
I'm not sure I am mate, I really can't remember now. I thought Scunny's chances after we withdrew Bailey were far superior to ours. Better chances than from where they scored in the first half which shouldn't really have been chances at all if we'd defended properly. Actually, not even properly, just kick the sodding ball. Scunny were leading when we withdrew Bailey but I don't think they'd shown anything to suggest they could play football. After the substitution they really should have scored. *Edit* that's not to say we shouldn't have made the sub, we were losing, we had to go more attacking, but the loss of Bailey sat in front of the defence just opened us up.
