Apart from gifting them a very good chance and looking useless when they had 10. Good in the second half but his mistakes should have had us dead and buried by then.
Agree about the early mistakes, but after that he was a rock and nullified their big lad to such an extent that he went all cry baby to the ref.
He hasn't played much so he's going to not be as sharp as the others. I can't help but like him, he's a trier and you know 100% that when he goes up for a header he's going to win it.
Definitely improved after the break unfortunately it seems we will never be able to stop him making one or two catastrophic mistakes a game. A trier though you have to like him.
How does a clean sheet equate to catastrophic mistakes. Played alreet today and made an occasional mistake as did all the others.
He looked better after he clattered their bandaged striker but first half he was woeful. He was sloppy and gifted them a great chance which should've been put away but he got away with it and grew into the game. In my opinion, when everyone is fit, he'd be the fifth choice cb behind Ramage, Nyatanga, Cranie and Holgate. I know Holgate is only young but he really does look class.
The air kick under no pressure that let their forward clean through. A decent team scores and you are 1 nil down. First 20 minutes poorest I've seen from any centre half this season.
No one made any mistakes of the same magnitude. I like him as a bloke and he's ok for a 5th choice centre half.
Scared the **** out of me all afternoon. And I like big Jean, I'm usually one of his supporters. Can't argue with the fact we kept a clean sheet and they didn't have a clear opportunity all game except from the one where big Jean took an air shot. Solid in places, shaky with the ball at feet. I fracking love him though.
he still absolutely frightens me to death. he's one of these scary centre halves, who thinks he can play football, but really, properly, can't. good game today, but you just know he's only ever inches from a big **** up..
His perfect game, with a traditional centre forward to subdue. Did well. One howler. not his fault either that we set up such that our least skilfull defender always seems to end up with the responsibility of pumping it forward. Our Jean resisted this to a greater extent than Ramage does. Thankfully.
Did well in second half as I said. At the same time it's hard to defend his performance for the first 20 minutes when he was appalling. Did enjoy his bit of skill towards the end of the first half.
Won everything in the air, especially against their big centre forward. We need him to be better with the ball at his feet as he will have it a lot with some expected good football link up with Pearson.
Brilliant in the air. Strong as an ox. A physical presence in both boxes. But unfortunately there's only so many times you can say 'if he could just cut out those silly mistakes'. We've been saying it since his first game. Doesn't matter how many good things he does in the game if he gifts the opposition a goal a game. The lads a liability.
Liability 65% in charge usually heading 15% piss funny 15 % nearly killing attackers 5% doing other stuff 3% trying to add up 11%
