Having been at QPR and the Coventry game here are my thoughts.

    Goalkeeper

Steele gave a solid performance at QPR but i thought he was at fault for the first goal yesterday. He needs to command his box more and communicate with the defence better. A good prospect for the future and good back up for when muller is back fit.

    Defence.

Too slow across the board, we just lack pace and that worries me. In the air we can beat anybody, i think Moore's experience could prove vital but the lack of pace is my mainconcern.

    Midfield.

Can't make my mind up here. i thought against Coventry we were good going forward in the first half but poor in the second. My main worry is defensivly, there were times yesterday when we had no central midfield when defending, this meant players with pace were running directly at our centre halves causing us problems and putting us on the back foot.

    Strikers.

indifferent i think don't think macken and hulme have gelled as a pair yet but hopefully they will come good.

    Overall.

I thing this first month will be a struggle can't see us picking any points up in august which puts us behind, i know people say its only pre-season game but i think we have a hangover from that we never achived the winning mentality. I think we will pick up and can get enough points to stay up this year. the discipline worries me, 2 red cards - fair enough that will happen, but hume's first booking was for dissent, also macken and howard got booked for disssent when hume was sent off. we need to get a grip of this before it becomes a major issue.

These are just a few of my honest thoughts i'm not all doom and gloom and do believe we can turn it round. :)

    Good assessment...however,

How the hell was Steele at fault for the first goal?

As a goalkeeper, you should be thoroughly expecting your defence to clear those types of balls. Bad, bad defending - Eastwood should've never been allowed to cross the ball in the first place.

Because he is paid and expected to save silly soft crosses that his defence don't stop.

Morrison lost Souza and went to the front post for the cross and missed it distracting Steele who had no chance.

Well I might accept that if he had made any attempt to get to the ball before Morrison but he didn't, he just stood and watched.
