I cant remember the year, it was at Oakwell the memory, brings tears to my eyes GORDON PALLISTERthe Left back of Barnsley imagine it,the ground full, the game evenly conteted, Pallister, getsinjured, can hardly walk they puton thelet wing,no subs in those days they try not to give him the Ball when they do,the west ham players are reluctant to tacklt him it happened at the Ponty end he gets the ball near the byline they dont tackle him,he licks the ball he scores Barnsley win 1-0 happy new year
Another 1-0 win over West Ham That springs to mind was on the last Saturday before Christmas 1990. West Ham were unbeaten in the league going into the match, which was settled by a thumping Mark Smith header from a corner at the Spion Kop end. By the way Bob, you have a PM from me.
And from 1993 Rambo and his Hat Trick http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...eam-fired-by-the-red-devil-within-691929.html
Despite the result, for what it represented, it has to be the opening match of the Premiership season for me. Red hot day and when Redfearn gave us the lead I thought the roof of the Ponty was going to come off. I always remember Barry Davies commentary for that goal on Match of the Day, he roared with almost as much emotion as a Barnsley fan, he knew what it meant to a small cub hitting the big time for the first time in their history ! Happy Memories !!
RE: 5-2 in league cup, i was amongst about 50 who went nt I was there as well. To come back from 2-0 behind and absolutely play them off the park was special. And Im on the video celebrating the goals!!
RE: 5-2 in league cup, i was amongst about 50 who went nt I was there too, although as I was working and living in London and couldn't get tickets for away end, i was in with WHU. They weren't happy. Even at 2-0 down at half-time you could sense there was still something in the game for us. Truely a magical night for all Reds
I was there too. I can see missen on the vid, somewhat slimmer, in a green Wedding Present tee shirt.
RE: 5-2 in league cup, i was amongst about 50 who went nt I was there as well. At the front with the denim jacket on doing lots of arm thrusting!
There were loads more there than that, surely I went down on the supporters' coach from the club with a Leeds-supporting mate of mine. Not sure how many were there and I've not seen the video for ages ('cos I'm embarassing on it) but there must have been a lot more than 50 there I'd have thought. We could probably get up to 50 just with BBS members who were there!
RE: Think my first ever game was the 4-1 in the FA Cup... its nice to see that when all is said and done even in todays "big four champions league" world nothing beats the 3rd round of the fa cup.
RE: 5-2 in league cup, i was amongst about 50 who went nt You were probably on our bus from the old social club.
RE: Think my first ever game was the 4-1 in the FA Cup... Indeed... it's my favourite day of the season... often until 4.50pm
