Robinson

Neville
Terry
Ferdinand
Ash Cole

Beckham
Gerrard
Lampard
Downing

J Cole

Owen

Subs
James
Carragher
King
Carrick
Lennon
Crouch
Defoe/Bent/Harewood

Or alternatively, Gerrard wide-left, and Carrick or King in the middle. But Downing looks outstanding whenever I've seen him play, and Joe Cole is more than capable of playing just off a front man very effectively.

I still think you'd have to have one of them very close to Owen..

He's really not cut out for playing as a lone striker, particularly when not 100% fit.

Owen, Joe Cole, Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Downing, and even Terry doesn't have goals in it?

Gary Neville

2nd best crosser in the England team. Knowhere near past it, vital if Crouch is going to play upfront alongside Owen.

Agree with that

and Crouch on the bench when we need to mix it up.

as for Rooney, Dave Nugent broke exactly the same bone, and was on the Preston bench inside 6 weeks. all comes down to the individuals recovery time. I suspect Rooney will play some part.

yes thats what i said

obviously i said king but seen as his a doubt and i was unaware of this id go with carrick. the great thing about that midfield is that they can all cove for each other and it can go from 433 to 451 very quickly giving us options going forward and cover defensively

of course!!!

hayes to play just off owen how could we miss that one. In fact get Richards in too, he has such composure in front of goal he never just smacks it and hopes for the best!

Anyone who thinks there is ANY alternative to Gary Neville

for the right back position has no right to express an opinion on football. They obviously have had their heads stuck in sand somewhere when the alternatives were given their chances when he was injured. In my opinion of course.

Correct.

I travelled all the way to Denmark to see Glen Johnson directly cost us at least two goals. Gary Neville one of the first names on the teamsheet for me.

cant judge Richards shooting because he never has a shot on goal. Used all his shots against Forest.
