There's a strange bird lurks round those reed beds. Has a distinctive, repetitive call ....... ....... .......

We have had this conversation before with Darfield-Red.
He's a person that does NOT like or have any understanding of nature or the natural environment.

He's one of these types that will OVER stock a river or pond with fish - and then wonder why there are so many cormorants.
He's one of these types that will OVER stock farmland with pheasants - and then wonder why there are so many buzzards.
He's one of these types that will also keep un-natural fluffy white doves in an open cage - and then wonder why there are so many sparrowhawks.

Yep - I had a bout of that last month.
I ended up having to have a day off work with it.

I'm one of those types that will over stock a football squad with goalkeepers.

The planet's overstocked with people but that doesn't mean that we should ignore the attendant rat problem. sometimes pests just have to be controlled (although I'm with you on the sparrowhawks and buzzards).

Rats are a slightly different as their increase in numbers are a consequence of actives humans have to do - such as growing crops and getting rid of waste.

But on the other hand there is no need for humans to over stock the countryside with fish or pheasants.
    Or fluffy white doves.

Over 50 MILLION pheasants released into the U.K. countryside each year - so shooters have a better chance to at least blast something.
