It's a brilliant picture, but if that's where you were stood, us lot in Barnsley were nearer the far goal.

Jay I was standing near the halfway line right under the little stand on the right.

Me and only around 9K or 10K United fans there. No segregation in they days. You just took your chances. TBH the game was so one sided the only trouble was Celtic fans fighting amongst themselves due to too much drink.

Lots of empty space on the terrace in the foreground. ..........rubbish support.

I know 2 teams that would have proper filled it AND had to turn people away....massive they both are .

Great scenes there Ian must have been a great atmosphere.
Think the largest crowd I have been in was around 100,000 at Wembley in the Spurs v Coventry FA cup final .
The largest watching Barnsley would be against Ipswich in the Championship play off final at the old wembley stadium think it was about 95,000 . both great atmospheres.
We took more than 35,000 fans to that game absolutely brilliant.

Wasn't that open end of Hampden, known as the "Celtic " end too and Rangers got the far side covered bit, errr when they played each other.
I went to an England game there in the mid 80's ended 1-1 and craped myself the entire match (in Celtic end)

Absolutely correct mate. Apparently Rangers financed the cover over that end because they said their fans used it most often.

So you said you crapped yourself the whole game. I find that very hard to believe. LOL
TBH I've been in the exact same situation many times in Glasgow. At times you just feel as if the whole world is against you. All part of the fun.

Marlon we went there with no great expectations but had we won 3-0 I think I might have been spending the night in Glasgow Royal Infirmary. LOL

Aye av been to a Celtic game as a neutral and felt very intimidated.very hostile fans.

Those scenes are long gone in British football imo money and TV has done for it.
Great wins for both of our teams tonight ian. Hope your sending your heartfelt commiserations to Malton blade;)
Let him know me and sparky feel his pain;)
