About the first time he took my dad to a match when he was only very young. It was a really big cup game and we scored in the last minute and everyone ran on the pitch to celebrate.

Anyway, the following week it was an unimportant league game and we scored a goal. Thinking the previous week was the norm my dad set off running. He got to the edge of the box before he realised no-one else had even moved....he looked very sheepish when a policeman frogmarched him back to my embarrased grandad!

You can excuse him for that :D

I was telling someone yesterday about when we were promoted under Hunter. I think it was 4-1 to the reds and with five minutes to go we were all stood on the touchline on all sides of the pitch or so it seemed. When the whistle went it was mayhem and I somehow ended up falling onto Stewart Barrowcloughs legs. That was the only time id been swore at by a professional footballer.

Cant remember who we played though

Glavin played for us from 79/80 - the season after Clarkie got us promoted from the Fourth - to the end of the 83/84 season and came back for the beginning of the 85/86 season.

I remember him starting that season needing 6 more goals for his 100 in Barnsley colours. I think one of his goal bound shots was tapped in by Ian Walsh and he didn't add a single goal to his tally
