They made an offer that the club accepted (though not formally), he went for talks and agreed then overnight before the paperwork was finalised we recieved another offer from a second club with a higher sell on clause. The offer made by sheffield united was acceptable originally but after the media got hold of it and another club offered more then the original bid became unacceptable as it was the lower of the two.
Do you think I'd be miles out with that?

you could be right, or perhaps sheff u changed the sell-on clause in the written offer once bri had agreed terms, thinking we wouldn't be able to do anything about it, particularly if they let it slip to the friendly local radio station that he was signed.
that's possible But I would imagine that Barnsley being Barnsley would have made it very clear in their statement if Sheff Utd had tried going back on the original deal as it would make them look even more like the bad guys which would be a good thing for us.
Sheff Utd couldn't produce a Colchester Stub, they had a centenary membership which doesn't count anymore so they are behind any other club in the queue
It's a plot to annoy dem dee-dahs.
He made a pillock of Phil Thompson, and now he's doing the same to the Blunts.
Keep it up ar Bri, (worship)
