Trying to read between the lines here. But this is my interpretation of his interview. When he said something on the lines of 'I've said it won't do, we need more players'. Who is he saying this to - and why? Then he said something like 'someone needs to get busy'. Who needs to get busy - and why haven't they been as busy as they should have been? The whole interview seemed to be saying that a plan for recruitment was agreed earlier in the year but brakes have now been put on that plan. Why should that be? Hecky seems to be indicating in that interview that there are things happening behind the scenes that's getting in the way of him doing his job properly. What can that be? I can think of only one thing that fits the bill.
CEO has been in post 7-8 weeks so he wasn't part of the early year planning. Are we expecting too much of him.? He can't make Clubs release their players.
Yep. You've got it. Listen to the interview - and IMO Hecky is saying ......... 'it dosent matter what is happening behind the scenes, we need players right now if we are to stand a chance this season'.
I hope this is the case, unfortunately under this current regime we will never move forward. The owner wants out anyway, and those around him (Barry) are so out of touch with the game. Investment is needed. But surely in the meantime new players is priority, we need at least 6 through the door, a mixture of loans and permanent deals. The season has crept up very fast and we aren't yet prepared.
Probably because there's never been one that's suitable and that doesn't fit your narrative. Now your deriding him because he's been trying to make the club self sufficient because he's been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Not really wanting to get involved in this one but there was a post to the Tribe of Preedy post Althincham that said as much and since then his health has taken a turn for the worse so who could blame him?
You couldn't be more wrong. For as long as I can remember he has stated that he is open to offers, well before his illness.
Yes provided it was a viable one. I don't don't doubt his position to not want to stand in front of someone who would be better suited to take us forward.
Yes and clearly we haven't had any viable offers as of yet, I seem to remember the Italians who were interested during Flickers run, some guy linked with Cellino at Leeds, now if that was the case then Cryne did a good thing not taking that any further. So yes we have been very lucky to have Cryne, especially since he pretty much saved us from extinction. My original point was that I hope, for Patrick's sake, and for the sake of the supporters that the rumours about the potential Chinese takeover is true, provided they are viable, because something needs to happen to take this club forward in this league.
Thought Cryne has said time and time again, that no rich investor wouldn't look at Barnsley cos of our geography and lets be honest we are not exactly a rich town, were we could hike prices up to £50 a game
