    Barnsley

    Last season- 13th

In: Richard Kell (Scnuthorpe), Paul Hayes (Scnuthorpe), Brian Howard (Swindon), Daniel Nardiello (Manchester United)

Out: Mark Stallard (Shrewsbury), Tom Williams (Gillingham), Michael Boulding (retired), Tom Baker

    Prospects:
Our prospects depend on 3 things; the partnership between Hayes and Nardiello being fruitful and staying fit, improved organisation at the back and key players being more influential. If this happens then the play-offs are a possibility

Key man/men: Paul Hayes and Stephen McPhail
    Prediction: play-off place

    Blackpool

    Last season: 16th

In: Scott Vernon (Oldham), John Doolan (Doncaster)

Out: Richie Wellens (Oldham), Martin Bullock (Macclesfield)
Zarko Grabovac, Steven Boyack, Leam Richardson, Paul Edwards and Rob Clare

    Prospects:
Struggled last season until a good run later on in the season. Losing Wellens is a big blow and they haven’t improved the team much either. Kiegan Parker’s form will be key. Could be another tough year on the seaside

    Key man: Kiegan Parker
    Prediction: Flirt with relegation

    Bournemouth

    Last season: 8th

In: Stephen Cooke (Aston Villa), Josh Gowling (unattached)

Out: Wade Elliott (Burnley), Garreth O'Connor (Burnley), Alan Connell (Torquay, undisclosed), Kevin Scriven (Farnborough)

    Prospects:
They did well last season and have always been a good footballing side. Losing Wade Elliot and Garreth O’Connor is a huge blow.

    Key man: James Hayter
Prediction: Too good to go down but not good enough for the play-offs.

    Bradford

    Last season: 11th

In: Danny Cadamarteri (Sheffield United), Russell Howarth (Tranmere), Bobby Petta (Darlington), Damion Stewart (Harbour View FC), Andrew Taylor (Middlesbrough, season-long loan)

Out: Michael Symes (Macclesfield), Paul Henderson (Leicester), Craig Armstrong (Cheltenham)

Prospects: Bradford are a bit like us, not too far off a team capable of reaching the play-offs. Cadamarteri will be key for them. If he can rediscover his form of old and score goals then they will be in the mix

Key man: Steven Schumacher & Danny Cadamarteri
Prediction: In with a shout of the play-offs

    Brentford

    Last season: 4th

In: Lloyd Owusu (Reading), Ricky Newman (Reading), DJ Campbell (Yeading), Sam Tillen (Chelsea), Oli Skulason (Arsenal), Paul Brooker (Reading)

Out: Matt Harrold (Yeovil, undisclosed), Deon Burton (Rotherham), John Salako, Stephen Hunt (Reading), Chris Hargreaves (Oxford), , Stewart Talbot (Boston)
Jamie Lawrence, Scott Fitzgerald, Andy Myers

    Prospects:
Did really well last season with their very direct and physical style, and I can’t see them changing. The return of Lloyd Owusu will be key to their chances. Everyone knows he can score for fun but needs to rediscover it.

    Key man: Lloyd Owusu
Prediction: In with a shout of the play-offs

    Bristol City

    Last season: 7th

In: Marcus Stewart (Sunderland), Alex Russell (Torquay), Grant Smith (Swindon), Matt Heywood (Swindon), Michael Bridges (Sunderland), David Partridge (Motherwell, £150,000)

Out: Leroy Lita (Reading, £1m), Danny Coles (Hull, £200,000), Tommy Doherty (QPR), Paul Heffernan (Doncaster, £125,000), Lee Miller (Dundee United, £225,000), Sekani Simpson, Mickey Bell (Port Vale), Tony Dinning (Port Vale), Joe Anyinsah (Preston, tbc), Marc Goodfellow (Swansea)
    Mike Stowell, Craig Loxton

    Prospects:
They’ve made some top signings in Stewart and Bridges. Those two should easily cover for the loss of Leroy Lita. IF they stay fit then they have to be one of the favourites to go up.

    Key man/men: Stewart and Bridges
    Prediction: Automatic promotion

    Chesterfield

    Last season: 17th

In: Colin Larkin (Mansfield), Paul Hall (Tranmere), Barry Roche (Nott'm Forest), Reuben Hazell (Kidderminster), Janos Kovacs (MTK Budapest KFT)

Out: Ian Evatt (QPR), Mark Innes (Port Vale), Mark Hudson (Huddersfield), Glyn Thompson (Shrewsbury) Andy Richmond, Jamie McMaster

    Prospects:
They struggled last season after starting pretty well. During the summer they’ve lost some key players in Evatt and Hudson and their replacements don’t seem to be of the same standard.

Key man: Janos Kovacs (because I know nothing about him and he could be great for all I know)
Prediction: A year of struggle again and possible relegation.

    Colchester

    Last season: 15th

In: Chris Iwelumo (Alemania Aachen), Dean Howell

Out: Gavin Johnson (Boston), Bobby Bowry (Gravesend)
    Jamie Cade, Ben Bowditch

    Prospects:
Always put down as relegation favourites only to then perform better than everyone thought. This season could be the same because they could struggle. Much wll depend on goals from Iwelumo.

Key man/men: Chris Iwelumo and Kemmy Izzett
    Prediction: They’ll struggle but survive.

    Doncaster

    Last season: 10th

In: Paul Heffernan (Bristol City, £125,000), Steve Roberts (Wrexham), Jan Budtz (FC Nordsjaelland), Tonny Nielsen (Fremard Amager), Sean Thornton (Sunderland, £175,000), Ben Saunders (Southwell City, undisclosed), Adam Hughes

Out: John Doolan (Blackpool), Gregg Blundell (Chester, £105,000), Guy Ipoua (Hereford)

    Prospects:
Surprised most people by finishing 10th last season. They’ve lost the very influencial (and McPhail can vouch for this) Greg Blundell to Chester but have significantly improved their team by signing Heffernan and Thornton.

    Key man: Sean Thornton
    Prediction: Play-off place

    Gillingham

    Last season: 22nd in Championship

In: Tony Bullock (Dundee United), Tom Williams (Barnsley), Danny Jackman (Stockport), Paul Shields (Forfar, £25,000)

Out: Nyron Nosworthy (Sunderland), John Hills (Sheffield Wednesday), Nicky Southall (Nottm Forest), Paul Smith (Walsall), Mamady Sidibe (Stoke)
Dean Beckwith, Matt Bodkin, Jones Awuah

    Prospects:
Relegated from the Championship on last day of the season and were probably the unluckiest of all the relegated teams. Losing talismen such as Nosworthy, Southall and captain Paul Smith will be a huge blow. They have however done the best bit of business this season in my eye, the signing of Mad Tom Williams (PMSL).

    Key man: Darren Byfield
    Prediction: Mid-table finish.

    Hartlepool

    Last season: 6th

In: Lee Bullock (Cardiff), Chris Llewellyn (Wrexham, undisclosed), Michael Proctor (Rotherham), Darren Williams (Cardiff)

Out: Chris Westwood (Walsall), Steve Howey

    Prospects:
Did really well last season to reach the play-off final (why couldn’t they beat Wednesday???!?!!) and should be in with a shout again this seaosn. Losing Westwood is a blow but the signing of Lee Bullock could be the best buy of the season.

    Key man: Lee Bullock
Prediction: In with a shout of the play-offs

    Huddersfield

    Last season: 9th

In: Gary Taylor-Fletcher (Lincoln), Martin McIntosh (Rotherham), Mark Hudson (Chesterfield)

Out: Akpo Sodje (Darlington), Nat Brown (Lincoln)

    Prospects:
A late run last season nearly saw them make the play-offs. They have some really good young players in Ahmed and Mirfin as well as the prolific Pawel Abbott. They have also brought in Hudson and McIntosh, 2 players I’d loved to have seen at Oakwell.

    Key man: Pawel Abbott
Prediction: Great chance to make the play-offs

    Milton Keynes Dons

    Last season: 20th

In: Paul Mitchell (Wigan), Craig Morgan (Wrexham, tribunal), Aaron Wilbraham (Hull)

Out: Allan Smart (Bury), Jamie Macki, Mark Williams, Ryan Jerwood, Luke Wildy

    Prospects:
I’d love to see them go down this season because they shouldn’t even be in existence and because of Danny Wilson (traitor!!!). However, I think they’re good enough to stay up. Izale McLeod will be important this season

    Key Man: Izale McLeaod
    Prediction: Mid-table

    Nottm Forest

    Last season: 23rd in Championship

In: Nicky Southall (Gillingham), Nicky Eaden (Wigan), Gary Holt (Norwich, swap), Ian Breckin (Wigan, £350,000), Gino Padula (QPR), Rune Pedersen (AGF Aarhus), Danny Cullip (Sheffield United, undisclosed)

Out: Matthieu Louis-Jean (Norwich, swap), Marlon King (Watford, loan), Eoin Jess (Northampton), Jon Olav Hjelde (Mansfield), Chris Doig (Northampton), Gregor Robertson (Rotherham), Barry Roche (Chesterfield), John Lukic (Grimsby)
Andy Impey, Darryl Powell, Craig Westcarr, James Biggins, Gavin Hurren, Jonathan Wilmet

    Prospects:
The big team to replace the Wendies. Looking at their team they should have far too much class for this division. In Chris Commons they have a star, their defence looks strong with Cullip and Breckin and up front they have options galore with David Johnson, Scott Dobie, Jack Lester, David Friio and Neil Harris. They should walk this league

    Key man: Chris Commons
    Prediction: Walk the league

    Oldham

    Last season: 19th

In: Chris Swailes (Rotherham), Luke Beckett (Sheffield United, loan), Andy Liddell (Sheffield United), Paul Edwards (Wrexham), Paul Warne (Rotherham), Rob Scott (Rotherham), Gareth Owen (Stoke), Terrell Forbes (Grimsby), Richard Butcher (Lincoln), Richie Wellens (Blackpool), Chris Porter (Bury), Chris Day (QPR)

Out: Scott Vernon (Blackpool), Steve Mildenhall (Grimsby), Dean Holden (Peterborough), Rodney Jack (Wrexham), John Eyre, Jermaine Johnson

    Prospects:
The Oldham team this season will be a lot different to last. A number of players have left and have been replaced by quality. The key will be how well the gel together as a team. If they do gel then they will do well

Key man/men: Luke Beckett, Andy Liddell and Richie Wellens
Prediction: Great chance for the play-offs

    Port Vale

    Last season: 18th

In: Mark Innes (Chesterfield), Danny Sonner (Peterborough), Tony Dinning (Bristol City), Hector Sam (Wrexham), Mickey Bell (Port Vale)

Out: Dave Hibbert (Preston, tribunal), Ian Armstrong, Ryan Brown, Christian Hanson, Simon Eldershaw, Levi Reid

    Prospects:
They struggled last season but still managed to batter us at Vale park. Surprise, surprise. The signings of Tony Dinning and Hector Sam are good and should help they stay out of trouble.

    Key man: Tony Dinning
    Prediction: bottom half

    Rotherham

    Last season: 24th in Championship

In: Gregor Robertson (Nottm Forest), Lee Williamson (Northampton), Jon Otsemobor (Liverpool), Colin Murdock (Preston), David Worrell (Plymouth), Deon Burton (Brentford)

Out: Darren Garner (Torquay), Paul Warne (Oldham), Rob Scott (Oldham), Chris Swailes (Oldham), Mike Pollit (Wigan), Martin McIntosh (Huddersfield), Michael Proctor (Hartlepool)

    Prospects:
For some reason unkown to mankind, Rotherham scaked Ronnie Moore last season they continued to free-fall. Lets face it, they were *****. They’ve also lost the heart of the team in Pollit, McIntosh and Swailes which will be difficult to replace. Jon Otsemobor could be a good signing though

    Key man: Deon Burton
Prediction: another year of struggle but should stay clear of relegation

    Scnuthorpe

Last season: 2nd in League Two

In: Tommy Johnson (Sheffield United), Jim Goodwin (Stockport), Richie Ryan (Sunderland), Richard Hinds (Hull)

Out: Paul Hayes (Barnsley), Andy Parton, Richard Kell (Barnsley), Terry Barwick (Grimsby), Wayne Graves (Kidderminster), Kevin Sharp (Shrewsbury)

    Prospects:
They’ve lost their top scorer and influential midfielder to us and replaced them with the ageing Tommy Johnson (who was just a strikers coach last season) and Jim Goodwinn from Whipping boys (excluding us that is) Stockport.

    Key man: Andy Butler
Prediction: I might be proved wrong but relegation.

    Southend

Last season: 4th in League Two (promoted via play-offs)

In: Mitchell Cole (Grays, undisclosed), Shaun Goater (Reading)

Out: Tes Bramble (Stockport), Michael Kightly, Jim Corbett

    Prospects:
In Freddie Eastwood they have a player who can score for fun, and now they’ve partnered him with Shaun Goater! A top singing. If their defence holds strong they’ll score enough goals to avoid trouble.

    Key man: Freddie Eastwood
    Prediction: Outside bet for play-offs

    Swansea

Last season: 3rd in League Two

In: Marc Goodfellow (Bristol City), Adebayo Akinfenwa (Torquay, £110,000)

    Out:

    Prospects:
They have the mercurial talents of Lee Trundle who will cause problems and they’ve also signed a couple of decent strikers to play with him in Goodfellow and Akinfenwa. I’m not sure about the rest of the team though

    Key man: Lee Trundle
    Prediction: Relegation

    Swindon

    Last season: 12th

In: Jamie Cureton (QPR), Charlie Comyn-Platt (Bolton), Jack Smith (Watford), Tony Thorpe (QPR), Ricky Shakes (Bolton), Gareth Whalley (Wigan), Nicky Nicolau (Southend)

Out: Matt Heywood (Bristol City), Brian Howard (Barnsley), Grant Smith (Bristol City), Sam Parkin (Ipswich, £450,000), Steve Robinson (Lincoln), Sammy Igoe (Millwall)

    Prospects:
I hope they stop up because, in Ricky Shakes, they have one of the best names in football. I can imagine the songs devoted to him. On a serious note, losing Sam Parkin is a massive blow for them and much depends on the experienced duo of Cureton and Thorpe.

    Key man/men: Curetona and Thorpe
Prospects: They’ll struggle and might go down

    Tranmere

    Last season: 3rd

In: Sam Aiston (Shrewsbury), Steve Wilson (Macclesfield), Chris Greenacre (Stoke)

Out: Paul Hall (Chesterfield), Russell Howarth (Bradford), David Beresford (Macclesfield), Gary Jones (Grimsby), Ryan Taylor (Wigan, £750,000), Simon Haworth

    Prospects:
Did well last season and always dangerous when you have Iain Hulme in the team. The signing of Chris Greenacre could also be inspired. However, with Ryan Taylor leaving, they have lost one of the best young players in the league.

    Key man: Iain Hulme
Prediction: Chance of the play-offs again.

    Walsall

    Last season: 14th

In: Chris Westwood (Hartlepool), Daniel Fox (Everton), Craig Pead (Coventry), Anthony Gerrard (Everton), Paul Smith (Gillingham), Steve Staunton (Coventry)

Out: Zigor Aranalde (Carlisle), Ryan Willetts, David Perpetuini

    Prospects:
The signings of Westwood and Staunton should provide a bit of steal they lacked last season and Paul Smith will be a battler in midfield. They do need to keep hold of Matt Fryatt though as they can’t rely on Joachim’s goals to get them out of trouble again.

    Key man: Matt Fryatt
    Prediction: Mid-table

    Yeovil

Last season: 1st in League Two

In: David Poole (Manchester United), Matt Harrold (Brentford, undisclosed), Nathan Jones (Brighton), Luke Oliver (Woking, undisclosed), Pablo Bastianini (Quilmes)

Out: Marcus Richardson (Chester), Andrejs Stolcers (FK Baku), Bartosz Tarachulski (Dunfermline)

    Prospects:
Kevin Gall and Phil Jevons scored goals galore last season and much will depend on them doing the same this time around. David Poole and Luke Oliver look like good signings and the Argentinean, Bastianini, might be a good player. They’ve lost the 2 Latvians though which will be a blow

    Key man: Phil Jevons
    Prediction: Mid-table
