I hear a lot talk about asylum seekers and illegal immigration. Particularly in Calais. How would us being out of Europe make them any less illegal or any less asylum seekery? If they are ILLEGALLY entering from Calais then how would us not being in the EU stop that? Everyone who hates asylum seekers always say they come here because we give more benefits than other European countries so being in the EU can't be the reason for it can it. So why would they suddenly disappear? From how I see it the only people who would have less chance would be legal European people not illegal African or middle eastern people. Or am I as usual missing something?
When people talk about migrants from the EU they are referring to legal migrants. 300,000 or so assorted Polish / Romanian etc. The illegal migrants would still be illegal, but the French might be more inclined to **** us over and reduce security should we leave the club.
