colgan - 7 - couple of weak clearances but came out of his box well and claimed some good crosses. Burns asked him why he dint come out for the cross which led to the 1st goal but i thought that was a bit harsh

hassell - 6 - could tell it was his 1st game back from injury

    carbon - 7 - dominant in air

reid - 7 - as carbon. said to colgan just before kick off "get bloody talking"

austin - 5 - at fault for 1st goal by walking backwards and letting ball go over his head to give the right mid a clear run at goal. stupid sending off. needs to buck his ideas up with every aspect of his game

burns - 6 - could/should have scored in 1st half. after sendings off couldn't get into game as played long ball but didn't support strikers enough

kay - 6 - unlucky for sending off. appears not sharp enough to play in midfield. was quite ineffective in air too. see also long ball comment for burns

shuker - 6 - ran his socks off but got little service so dint see enough ball to warrant a 7

devaney - 7 - tracked back well when aussie was sent off. ok, he runs straight and dunt wanna use his left foot. scraped a 7 as he got the ball and run at them

conlon - 7 - MOTM - worked hard, should have scored a couple and held the ball up well. i like bazza but giving him MOTM for holding the ball up and working his arse off seems so wrong to me. As a player he gets MOTM but as a striker and providing some goal threat he'd deserve a 4. Maybe that sums up Bazza or maybe we don't play to his strengths like Darlo did? not quite made my mind up

hayes - 6 - little goal threat, little glimpses of quick-footedness in 1st half but that's about it

subs - nardi got little ball. richards got through but lack of match sharpness saw defender cover in time

That's a pretty accurate summing up of the match that I attended as well.
Disappointed in Kay's performance yesterday, he didn't seem able to get into the game but as you said was unlucky to be sent off. We know that he can and will play better games than this.
Also disappointed in Hayes and I'm not sure that he can play any better.

"Kaye unlucky for sending off" - clearest sending off you could wish for - stupid man - let his mates and the spectators down.

"Conlon MAN OF THE MATCH" - WHAT A JOKE - tries hard but has no talent whatsoever - total waste of a shirt...

Jocks got it bang on for me about Baz. Played very well yesterday, won alot of headers, brought midfield into play, held the ball up very well, also ran his socks off. Some poor passing at times let him down. Overall a good performance. However has he stated, hes there as a striker... so :S

But you cant knock his performace. (Y) Well done Baz.

    RE: where we you sat?

Did you hear Andy Ritchie say that he had no argument with Kaye's sending off???

he said on radio sheff that he wasn't going to appeal

that doesn't mean he agrees with it. the last appeal we had we were defo in the right but the decision was still upheld. he prob thinks its a waste of time and money

    Hayes?

Hayes ran himself into the ground for 65 minutes. Why? Because Conlon is too immobile to move. We lose Hayes ability because he exhausts himself covering for Conlon.

Conlon's missed header sums up that he is not a target man that is any good infront of goal - I would have scored it. All he had to do was direct it- the pace was generated by Shuker's very good cross. (There's one for the Shuker haters).

Seen numerous games on TV this weekend, in all divisions. Also numerous "tackles" like the Kay one. He was the only one that got sent off for it and very few of the others even got a yellow card for it. From where I was sitting in the Pnty End, Rennie had the card in his hand before Kay even made contact with Coppinger.

Total agree with poggylad Conlon is absolute rubbish down to 9 men and losing the game and he stands on the half way line with his hands on his hips, cannot read a game he has no passion in him what so ever and as for kay definate sending off, lets give hayes a decent partner up front. Conlon striker 10 games in and 1 goal not promotion standard his he.

Hayes ran himself into the ground..must have been deep into the ground

cos I did not see him do much...oh apart from missing a header..oh but he cant be doing that can he?? strikers are supposed to put everyone in the net.FFS
