I had the misfortune of reading the Daily Mail last Friday for reasons I will not go in to, and there was a huge article about this. The whole thing is the most pathetic, self-pitying, self-indulgent load of nonsense I've ever read on all sides. The dad who sacked his children off to boarding school wonders why they are emotionally stunted, the daughter bellyaching about her difficult life in France only having her surgeon husbands salary to live on. And then another article lamenting the fact that a divorced woman was unable to move in with her new partner because under the terms of her divorce her payments would stop and she'd have to find a job which isn't fair. This from the paper that spends its entire time vilifying the feckless working classes
