Absolutely fantastic I thought. Beer, snap, loads of screens showing sky sports and well done out. Very impressed. Something like that at Oakwell would be a gold mine. Shame. Fleetwood is an absolute **** hole though.
Had to google it, thought they had a bar called Moaning boring Tw@t bar. Turns out it's called Jim's.
Fantastic set up One of the best I've been to Happy hour 12-1 £2 a pint Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Been to plenty worse places than Fleetwood. That seaside place 6 miles down the road from there though, god what a **** hole that is. You walk round thinking you might get your head caved in at any minute. Everyone looks so rough. I felt like the odd one out because I didn't have a spider's web tat on my neck.
Not wrong. 3.80 for a pint of Peroni is steep but it's really good surroundings. Plenty of room, lots of drink choices, loads of bar staff, Sky Sports and a plenty of food. Friendly door men too greeting you going in.
And we are stuck with a classroom for a pub pre match Nothing against the lads that run redfearns but very embarrassing that Fleetwood manage to make it work on 3000 fans each week but we can't with 8000 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As opposed Redfearns Bar that's got screens showing sky sports, lovely pie and peas and cracking priced beer plus funds raised go to local charities
You can moan about our accommodation all you want but: - it's all we've got - we're lucky we have it. The club don't have to let us use the Ozone - the capacity is what it is, we'd love to get hundreds in there - but if it was bigger chances are the club would make a go of it themselves As it stands, we are very happy with the setup. It's better than what we had before - nothing!
I've only recently started going in Redfearns as I thought with not getting through until a little later that I wouldn't get in. I've been lucky most times and got in and I have to say it is fantastic. More often than not I'm in on my own with the paper or watching the live matches and - when I've thought to consider the décor or the function of the room - I generally think I'm impressed that it has the feel of a good WMC 'best side'; large space, long seating and a good atmosphere. The beer is great, the snap is great and the atmosphere is great. I for one am not really that fussed that the club haven't done anything else to be honest as I think they would be hard pushed to match the generally good job the Redfearns team do. Before anyone asks - I posted this of my own free will and - other than bigdaddycool - I don't even know anyone that's involved with Redfearns!!! I'm just a fan of the place.
It is what it is. The Redfearn's lads have done a cracking job and it's at capacity every game, so they must be doing summat right. Personally I'm not that ar$ed about a pub. If it having a pub means less money to invest in the squad, it's not a priority for me. Like the scoreboard. I'm sure it's summat they will revisit someday, if we're loaded at any point.. Wonder how much money it makes, how much it gives back to the club, and how much is being used for Trust inititatives or being donated to local charities. A load of the stuff reeled off in this thread is a like for like explanation of Redfearn's Bar, other than capacity.
Agree with all of that As stated above I think you do a great job But disappointing we don't have anything better such as Fleetwood Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Something else they got right £1 for a programme - How many years is it since ours was a £1? I used to buy a programme from every away game and also concert gigs but them stopped when they started asking £3, £5, £10 and even £20 for some gigs Wouldn't have bought one Saturday until I found out they were a £1. Not a huge programme but worth the £1 as a souvenir.
Again no offence to those who run Redfearns. They do a fantastic job in pretty poor surroundings and give a lot back to the community. I just think it's a shame that they can't do it in a proper custom built space. The facilities at clubs like Fleetwood really do make ours look poor by comparison. At the end of the day Redfearns despite the best efforts of all those involved is a little cold for the purpose it is being used for and does feel like having a drink in a meeting roo m and there's little they can do about that. Again no criticism whatsoever of Redfearns or the people running it as they are doing a great job but visits to places like Jim's do make you think what could be.
Mine had 16 pages but I get your drift. I used to buy programmes every game merely as collectors items rather than to read a manuscript. 16 pages is enough to put the important stuff like a few pen pictures, team news etc. Like I say, I've stopped buying them even though I've been to a hell of a lot of matches over the years. Saved missen £1,000's . However at a £1 I thought why not.
