Thought McNulty had a good game. He is told to play from the back yet the movement in front of him was **** poor. Doyle was doing a great Hugo Colace impression - he's the new passenger. Thought Foster desrved motm. Don't think think Butterfield fanied about, just don't think we managed to get him on the ball enough.

When the team has played well this season, Butterfield has been at the heart of it. Howver the news is out. In the first half, Bristol nullified his threat by man marking him with the big 21. Mr Hill saw this and decided to move him out of the way of the 21 by switching him to the right wing. This is not Butterfield's best position and he cannot influence the game out there. OK, he hit the bar with a good shot, but otherwise he was not in the game. The improvement in our play came when Perkins replaced Doyle. From that point, we passed the ball much better. However, Barnsley having scored the equaliser, Bristol made a change. They took off the now redundant 21 and replaced him with a footballer. This allowed them to wrestle back control of midfield and they always looked the more likely winners in the last 10 minutes.

The bigger significance going forward is that the manager's prefer system 4-5-1 with Butterfield at its heart has been rumbled and 4-4-2 makes us look vulnerable defensively. Thinking caps back on for our management team I'm afraid.

We started to play well when Perkins and Dinkwater were in the middle together. Perkins gives us that extra energy that has been lacking in recent games. Perkins gives Drinkwater extra space to link up with Butterfield.
