... but our two most influential players are our soon-to-return loanees - DeSilva and Macken. The midfield look so much more confident with DeSilva in it, he calms things down and has the ability to distribute balls with a high degree of accuracy. And I would say Macken's contribution might be even higher. I don't care one bit if he doesn't score, because he creates so many opportunities. He is strong enough to fend off defenders, hold up the ball and lay it off for others to finish off. I'm not questioning the contribution of the other lads because it was an all-round team performance Saturday, but take those two out and we look a bit more ordinary. Nevertheless, they wereinspired loan signings and I would prefer to have them a couple of months than not at all, so well done Davey.
Macken made the first 2 goals the chest down for the first and a good pass under pressure to JCB for the 2nd
I think that if we are still there or thereabout the playoffs in January that we might get them both on half season loans

Very impressed with Macken, holds the ball up well and distributes it even better. All that is missing is a goal and hopefully he can get it on Tuesday. Would hope we can get him for the season. Da Silva is just different class. Howard look allot more comfortable in midfield alongside him. The ball to JCR when Ferenczi missed the sitter was top class. Does it all so simple.
RE: Macken made the first 2 goals let's hope so, although the new Derby manager might want him back to take a look at his squad.
i would'nt just put them 2 in, what about our other loan signing, Nyatanga? he's a rock at the back with Souza, and they get on well.
Yes I agree. I thought we had Nyatanga on a season long loan and at the time of writing I didn't know Billy Davies had been sacked. Agree though, that loan spine of Nyatanga, DeSilva and Macken would leave us ... err ... spineless.
Do we have the financial clout To sign all three , plus a replacement for Colgan , on a permanent basis in January ? If we could , then who knows how far we can go ?
Depending what position we are sat in come the January transfer window we may see some more cash splashed.
