hes young and looks as if hes going to develop into a top class keeper. In the mean time weve got a top class keeper in Colgan. Keepers dont get injured too often do they so we may aswell cash in on Flinders who is sitting on the bench and sign some top quality players (Windass, decent centre half etc) with the money we get. If we get say £500k - £1million - we can sign several top class players at this level. But of course the other side of th argument is if colgan gets injured were fecked and Flinders could develop into a class keeper.
We have to look at this logically and say........ that even 'if' Chelski do want to attain Flinders services the money is not going to be as much as that. Chelski aren't daft, they don't just pay over the odds. They only pay more when other clubs are interested i.e. in the case of Walcott and Arsenal.
Liverpool paid £1m for Carson but he had Premier League experience and was capped at U21 level.
My own view would be for £200-300K at the very most and yet again this will be based on how much they want him after the trial.
I hope he performs well not just for the recompense to the club but for Scott to fulfil the aspirations he has as a player and who knows he might not be signed but come back to us even better for the experience.

RE: We have to look at this logically and say........ if they only offered us 200k-300k i would reject the offer.
I'm not saying I would either but..... I can't see it becoming much more than that at this point. Why would they on a relatively untried goalkeeper that they might not get any return from?
I really do hope that I am wrong for both the club and Scotts sake. It must be a dream come true for the lad to even be mentioned by Chelsea.

I was joking with young Scott earlier Can you imagine the scene ? Monday , down at Chelsea's training ground and Jose Mourinho goes up to you and says , "You're Scott Flinders aren't you ? Is it true you're good friends with Laura Herring ?? Could you get me her autograph ???" .
