Several of my team have been directly affected by these sickening acts of terrorism. One young lady colleague had her best friend shot dead. One young lady colleague had her boyfriend killed at the concert venue. Another lady was held hostage at the concert hall but thankfully escaped safely but is clearly traumatized. Tears have flowed this morning, including mine. It is a such sad and tragic time here. What can you say other than offer condolences and support? I am wearing a black tie and will make the minute silence at midday but it seems so little to the pain that I see around me. I see my team with their nation in shock and grief. I join them. I ask all on the BBS who read this to spare a thought for all those who have lost a loved one here in Paris. Je suis Paris! Mark
Tears don't really help but nevertheless they are there. Hope you and you family and colleagues get through this, can't begin to imagine what you're all going through.
I find it impossible to imagine the shock, grief & trauma you, your family, your friends, work colleagues, in fact anyone affected by barbaric acts of terrorism where ever that may be, are going through. For what it's worth, the thoughts of my family & I are with you all. Kev
Everyone in Europe should be thinking of you now. It's always been easy to be against the French but not today. We should all stand In Silence at 1100 today and think of those who went out for a Friday night's entertainment and never went home
**** me man. Heartbreaking. Of little to no help, but my thoughts are with you all.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not good at all. My heart goes out to all those directly and indirectly affected by this horrific event. Were do we go from here? When will this senseless murdering stop. TBH the world is f ucked. Viva La France.
Hard to make any comment we've all seen the pictures, and stayed up Fri night to watch Sky News. Brilliant to see residents opening their doors to strangers. I'll be showing my solidarity. I've got tickets for France 2016 and at that Stadium in Paris. On a lighter note good to meet you In Redfearns Bar last season
There are no words I can type that are even remotely adequate My thoughts and sympathy are with you and all of Paris and I too share in your shock and grief Be strong and I hope you can all pick up your lives again as best you can
I hope people read your post today before even contemplating posting anything else on this forum. It makes you realise that life can be so cruel. My work held a minutes silence at 11 am, but it isn't until reading your post that I have properly stopped and thought about what's going on in the world and how it has affected millions of people, either directly or indirectly. Life's too short for hate. Sadly with each side retaliating to each action, I'm unsure as to where this will all end. My thoughts are with you, your family and your colleagues and the rest of France. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy. Liberté, égalité, fraternité. Vive la France.
We observed a minutes silence at work this morning PT. My thoughts were with you, your colleagues and all those affected.
We did the minute silence and, for a usually incredibly rowdy place with a more disparate group of people that you could ever imagine meeting, there wasn't a sound that i heard. My thoughts to you and the people you work with.
Thoughts for everyone at your office mate and anyone anywhere who has been affected by this Had a minutes silence today at work Dingles an Dee Dars together in solidarity . Vive La France.
I cannot imagine how you and your colleagues feel. On Saturday, I watched another Barnsley defeat. I could barely be bothered with it after what I'd seen on TV. Just doesn't matter in the big scheme of things. Absolutely tragic loss of innocent lives. Glad you're safe, Mark. Condolences to your colleagues.
As you will all understand it has been a difficult and emotional day. I feel like I have been present at an all day wake, being respectively present but not wanting to be there or asked to be invited. The minute silence at noon was incredibly moving and the singing of La Marseillaise that spontaneously followed was inspiring. At that moment my home nationality was irrelevant, I was just proud and humbled to stand shoulder to shoulder with my dear colleagues and friends. I am now home, thankfully safe and with my loved ones. I am so grateful for that. Thank you to all for your supportive messages and "likes" earlier today which I have just read. I know my colleagues would appreciate such solidarity, so thank you on their behalf. Mark
My thoughts are with everyone in Paris. I watched the news for hours all weekend and we had a minute's silence at work today. It's absolutely horrendous and must be put to a stop as soon as possible.
A friend of mine knew the British lad who was killed - worked with him selling merchandise at loads of concerts - such a waste of life
It must be a very strange feeling. I was in San Francisco for 911. It was a very strange time indeed. The CEO send a company-wide email over the weekend that someone in our Levallois-Perret office was affected. Not related, but we have another Indian colleague still in a coma after getting beaten up returning to his hotel in Luton a couple of weeks ago. Stay strong and be safe.
