Why do "realistic targets" include loan players?

We should be looking for targets to bring in permanently, then closer to the start of the season, if we were unsuccessful at filling all the positions we wanted to we look at the loan market to fill out the squad.

I would be very suprised when the Transfers begin to roll in if we've every heard of most of them .......
Look at the players we brought to the club last year...... Van homoet, Sousa, Muller, de Silva, Werling....We'd never hear of most of them but some of them turned out to be real gems............

We need to be more astute than that

In modern football there is a lot of competition for players on loan and if you want the best available, you need to be on the ball and get them as early as possible. Many top clubs are lending out very good players for the season, and good use of the market can make a huge difference.

Fortunately I feel this is one area that Simon Davey has done well in, and I'm confident we'll have a couple of decent loan signings next year.
