BURNLEY moved out of the relegation spots with a shock 3-0 win at Birmingham City. The Blues will surely be working on their aerial defensive abilities to avoid experiencing such embarrassing performances in future.
Referee Mr Coote showed the first yellow card of the afternoon to the Tykes' Adam Hammlil after the pacy striker went down a little too easily for the man in black''s liking.
Barnlsey grabbed a scrappy lead just before half time. After Birmingham huffed and puffed but never managing to trouble the Red's veteran keeper, Steele, Conor Hoolahan flashed in a hopeful cross for Winall to head home thanks to sloppy defending.
Into the second half and Birmingham went down to 10 when the influential David Davis seemed to foul Scowen and was shown a second yellow.
This most likely gave Burnley the incentive to press on for another goal, and they did just that. Mike Roberts rose highest to nod home another Hoolahan set piece before Winall grabbed a brace 3 minutes later.
Overall a bad day at the office for the resurgent Blues, and will be hoping not to drop points in future against inconsequential nobodies like Barnsley. The Tykes have put a gap between themselves and relegation danger by moving to 12th, but we can still hope. Afterall the referees are doing their best.

At no point have you referred to us as 'the Robins'.

I listen to a podcast called the football ramble, and one of them on there last week prior to Burnley vs Man City said something down the lines of John Stones going back to his former club. He obviously got pulled up for it on twitter. So in the subsequent episode he apologised, said that Stones had gone to Everton from Blackburn and then clarified that to everyone down south, every northern football team is the same thing. So for the rest of the episode when either Barnsley, Burnley or Blackburn were the subject, they interchanged the names. It was actually quite funny.

Haha its not exactly hard is it. People don't get Man City and United mixed up or Watford and Walsall. And I'll remember the Robins thing for next time!

    Not bad

but you failed to mention Burnley's former Manchester City Manager Mel Machine.
