1. The corporate hospitality at Oakwell seems to be severely under utilised. Why doesn't the club do more to encourage conferencing, hospitality and entertainment not connected to football. You could make it more of a venue for music, parties, comedy, business training and seminars, a restaurant etc.

    2. This is linked to No.1 really but as someone who is getting married this year I understand how much easy money can be made from them so why don't the club go out and sell the facilies for wedding receptions and even concider getting a civil service licence. Sheffield United use their facilities in this way.

    3. The club can encourage young supporters by sending the players to all the local schools to chat or even to do some regular coaching. That way the club puts something back into the community and the players become better value for money

    4. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think a member representing the supporters is on the board. Is there any chance this could happen. That way supporters concerns, ideas could be dealt with at board level regularly.

    5. Show major football matches on a big screen in the exec boxes. This could be England or big games involving BFC. What better place to go and watch and England game than a football ground?

As far as I am aware, the club has a licence and you can get married there. The venue is pretty small IMHO and not good value when compared to local hotels eh Brooklands

Just shows how well we market these things if you know about Sheff U and not us...

Think all of your suggestions are already in place, bar point 5???

    1) They do use the facilities as a restaurant. You could book for Sunday lucnhes etc last season. Not sure how successful this was, but you could book.

    2) They do have a licence, but the venue is small and limited. I personally would like the fact of getting married at BFC, but the missus wouldntn't. Im sure this is same with most.

    3) we do do regular coaching. My five year old nephew is a regular down at the 'well for coaching. We have the facilities in place and do enough marketing of this.

    4) Wasnt one of the first things Ridsdale did was appoint someone on the board???

    5) Can't see showing matches take off...... People watch em locally.....

    1. I believe it is available for parties etc. I have attended a 21st birthday.

    3. I have advocated this for years, the players have enough time on their hands and they should see it as an opportunity to improve their potential coaching/managerial skills. But the key point is to get the youngsters to cajole their dads into taking them down to Oakwell. It should be opartt of a players contract to attend schools & provide coaching..jeez a 24 squad members, 2 hrs per week, more than enough to go around.

    4. Agree. Goes back to the point of having the old social club in place.

Yes you can get married at Oakwell. It's where me and the Mrs got married in 1999. The club did a fantastic job for us and the players turned up for us to have some photo's taken with them
