my take on hockey being a girls game

there are many different kinds of hockey (roller, field, ice, etc) and they have varying degrees of 'girlyness'.

the typical 'girls' hockey that you see played with the short curved stick is very non contact and yes it is a bit girly but the other kinds areanything BUT girly. there is a big difference between a ball coming at your ******** and a puck flying at them. one will leave you in pain, the other will leave you childless.

I used to play roler hockey (for barnsley) and i broke my nose twice, fractured a wrist and had several other cuts and bruises. It quite simply is not girly. I thought that was bad but i got asked to play in one ice hockey game because they were short on players. all i am saying is never again. if you fall down then you certainly pull them fingers in as quick as is humanly possible because the speed them skates shoot past is unbelievable. a lot of respect to them.

i still cant watch it though as it can be a boring game to watch but it isnt girly, not by a long shot.
