The facts are this season we have Pld 6 W1 D0 L5 = Relegation from. The question is can Davey turn it around or is it time to go? I wasn't in favour of SD's appointment but I feel he's done ok (until now), but Barnsley have had to many managerial changes in past few years. So unsure what to do for the best?

I do believe SD brings alot to the table, but I also find him very frustrating at times. Main frustration being his inability to make tactical changes at the correct times or even at all i.e. he rarely make substitutions and if he does its often to late for them to make an impact. Don't get me wrong I feel he has the ability to do well, and has proven that with some top performances over the past two years. But the problem is when he gets it wrong he fails to adapt and make necessary changes.

Fact is if we play like we did last night we will get relegated. We lost possession far to easily and didn't test their keepers at all. If we are to get anything a Southampton on Saturday we need to book up our Ideas and possibly personel.

My team for Saturday.

Muller

Hassell, Foster, Souza, Kozluk

JCR, Colace, Leon, Hume

Macken & Howard

Subs: Steele, Moore, Van Homeot, Adam & KO

Changes:
1. Muller for Steele - Nothing against Steele (apart from kicking) but Muller is leagues above and has a major influence every time he plays.
2. Hassell in for Foster - Foster has been poor at fullback so far this season. Time to give Bob a chance.
3. Foster in for Moore - Foster & Souza is proven partnership, I feel Moore is good squad player and has started to many games (time for a rest).
4. Leon for Howard - when Howard is fit Leon rarely gets opportuniy to shine in the middle of the park. He proved this is his best position when Howard was injured at the back end of last term.
5. Howard for KO - strange that is may sound Howard could be the answer to our striking problems. He likes to get forward, gets in good positions, good finishers, and shoots (rather than pass) when ever he gets opportunity. I feel he has been poor in midfield over past few weeks and has lost possession far to easily. You may not agree but its got to be worth a try hasn't it.
6. Subs - going on pre-season form you've got to say young Adam deserves a run out!

I can't believe Foster is taking flak!

Seeing as he's been attempting to do the job of an entire back 4 in every game so far, plus right winger and attacker last night. He was immense at Blackpool and has probably been our best performer on average over the course of the 1st 6 lge games, just like he was last season. Leave him alone, it's not his fault that he's selected at RB!

Seriously Johnny, what is the "lot" that Davey brings to the table?

I'm not being clever I just honestly don't understand what anyone sees in him.

RE: I can't believe Foster is taking flak!

Looked last night like he'd been told to push on - caught out of position, Souza wafted a foot at the cross, bump 1-0.

Thought Foster didn't have his best game last night, but it needs to be taken in context of how he's consistently been since his arrival.

Foster was poor against Derby............but he scored and so its forgotten

Foster seems to be able to put good crosses in when on the wing but he dosen't seem to have much control of the ball when in the full back position.............

No Devaney? I like...

the look of your team but am unsure whether Steele deserves to be dropped. I know what you are saying about Muller but would be a bit miffed if I were Steeley and was dropped after he's kept us in games. I think a shake up may be in order though. I'm not sure about Leon yet, would like to see Colace and De Silva in if he is fit but I definitely agree about Moore. I think he had his best game for us since he arrived last night, but think Souza and Foster are a better combination. Hassell or Van Homoet at right back? May be tempted to play 3 at back - Hassell, Fozzy and Souza.

If we had midfeild of:

JCR Colace De Silva Devany

Howard

Mossto or Hume or Macken or KO up front then I would be happier. Think the striking situation is critical at the mo, need someone on loan methinks! Time for Mossto or not? I don't particularly think he's been given a fair go but I've not been impressed with what I've seen so far either. Roll on Saouthampton and hope Devanyey can do what he did last season. Foz
