Personally think we were unlucky tonight. Taking the lead in the 82nd minute looked like we'd done enough only for us to let it slip 2 minutes later with some lacklusture defending. Didn't think we were anywhere near the top of our game, but Birmigham were even worse and a draw was the least we deserved. The way i see things is, Davey picks his favourite players and puts them where they fit the best. Mifsud should look fr a new club in the summer because he's a talented player who is wasted by poor tactics from davey. Part of Mifsud's agreement to come on loan to us is to play up front, but while he's on his own, he's no good to anyone as he is about 5ft 5in. If he had Bogdanovic as a strike partner, as opposed to a makeshift winger, the pair of them culd have bagged plenty in the short space of time they have been at the club. Macken is a decent squad player, but should have come on off the bench in the latter stages, which has proved vital for us this season. Macken has played better from the bench, and on two occasions has scored with his first touch, but Davey tried to fit him into this 4-3-3/4-5-1 or whatever it was supposed to be and it didnt work. Jamal Campbell-Ryce, well what can i say, he's a decent player, probably the best at the club, but isn't being utilised properly because Davey has got him believing that if he plays in the centre of midfield, he will score loads of goals; granted, jamal has scored plenty this season, more than any other season to be exact, but all of his goals have come from the wing or the penalty spot, and therefore it is clear to see that jamal plays better when he is making jinking runs from the wing into the penalty area. Bobby Hassell, my favourite player in the team, because he has been consistent for years, loyal to the club and has caused the least hastle to the managment staff in recent years, why on earth Davey cant just leave him in the position he is best at is beyond me. Okay, he's [rpved he can be an adequate midfield player, but this has no comparison to the affect he has on the defence when he plays full back. Play someone else in midfield Davey, and let Bobby get one with his outstanding job at full back. Hugo Colace, normally an outstanding player, and is one competitor for player of the season along side Bobby, and Darren Moore too, but why he hoofs the ball up in the air when a simple pass will do. This aspect of his game is what stops him from playing in the premier league, a place where he wants to be, in order to fulfill his ambitions of playing for the Argentina squad.

Birmingham City were a poor side, who have got to 2nd place by sneaking a late goal here and there, well we got the late goal in first to make them settle for a point, but really we should have been home and dry before then, its simple Davey and i;m going to say it in BIG BOLD LETTERS, PLAY 2 WINGERS AND 2 STRIKERS, PLAY 4-4-2 FFS. most of the goals we have scored this side of Christmas have come either from the wing or from a cross, which shows our determination to attack the ball; by crossing the ball from the wing instead of playing the pass inside, we can double the amount of chances we have in the game and produce more goals from the strikers, all i can say is we're gonna stay up, and COME ON YOU REDS. (by the way, this took me 25 minutes because i've had a few to drink since i came home, an there may be a few typo's because my O and D dont work properly.)

    How did it not work?

We were the better team. We were unlucky not to win. Against a promotion challenging team. In what way then did the tactics and team selection not work?

Not saying it didn't work tonight, but...

in past weeks, the same tactics which were used tonight, haven't worked. Birmingham were one of the poorest sides ive seen this season tonight, (which is strange because at St Andrews at the beginning of the season, they were the best ive seen), and we should have seaten them, if we'd played with 2 wingers and 2 strikers then we would have won by 2 or 3 goals tonight. Felt like 2 points dropped as opposed to 1 gained.
