Looks about right for me, but i still think that we will sign a couple more players this week, so your team selection would change again.
Swap Colgan for Lucas for me Nick needs to be told in no uncertain terms that his recent form has been unacceptable. I can't remember taking too much notice of Lucas before and I'm not sure if he's any good or not, but he can't be worse at commanding and organising his area than Colgan. We lack experience at the back and those lads need help from the keeper, and all Colgan does is make them more nervous.
"recent form unacceptable" I'm afraid I have to disagree there. Yes he made a mistake but that his made him pull his socks up in the last couple of games. It could have been a very embarassing result at Wolves had Colgan not made several save and I didn't go yesterday but today'd paper said "Reds keeper Nick Colgan performed heroics." I actually would play Lucas in the next match (if he is fully fit) but just to show Colgan that there is competition for his place, which will hopefully up his game even further. And, Lucas is only here on a one month contract so we might as well use him, if for nothing else then to give Colgan a rest, he's barely missed a game in this last year.
RE: "recent form unacceptable" I should really have qualified that one by saying I've not been to the last few away games, but it isn't his shot stopping ability that is the problem (he is certainly better than average in that department) - it is the complete lack of communication and ability to command his area that breeds uncertainty right through the back four. The game against Wednesday highlighted this to the extreme, as we through ball after ball into the box for Crossley to come and catch, you just knew that when it came back at us Colgan would stand on his line while the crosses flew across his 6-yard box. It was chalk and cheese, and it is a huge part of a goalkeepers responsibility that he fails to manage. Edit: to answer the original question, he appears to have been much worse with this recently, hence the statement that it was "unacceptable"
I agree entirely Shot stopping is only 50% of a keepers job..if that and to be honest he's not the best at that either. Maybe we should give Lucas a run out?
