I'd make one change to that

McNulty at left back giving the option to go 3 at the back allowing Stones to push further forward.

Aye, almost tears in me eyes thinking about it.

I've just realised I made a mistake though - should have been Spud and not Fez at RB.

Winstanley and Howard would definitely be an improvement on what we have...

Bradbury and Brian Taylor shared the 10 shirt IIRC

Wouldn't argue! Was 11 at the time!
Saw every home game in the 67/68 season.
We could do with a bit of Pat Howard steel just now...

Taylor got injured and Bradbury took over. Taylor played left wing as well that season whilst Hamstead were out, so both Bradbury and Taylor were in same line up on occasions.

Well I remember Hamstead's 'Beatle' haircut and he could take a decent corner too. And Bob Earnshaw(part-time teacher) who had only one skill-could run reight fast down the wing but often forgot to take the ball!wonder where they are now?!

Great memories all. Wasn't Norman Dean around? Bought him and Johnny Evans at the same time? In terms of old players being able to play in this side........Les Lea?

Something a bit different, and I know it won't happen but maybe:

    ........................Steele............................
    ...........Wiseman Foster McNulty
    O'Brien...................................Goldbourne
    .........Buszaky Dawson Greening...............
    ................Tudgay Davies........................

Yes i've gone for wing backs. I reckon O'Brien would work well in that role as he does his defensive duties very well, yet he's a good crosser of the ball when he gets forward. 3 centre halfs surely is better than 2??? I've dropped Mellis because I reckon I could do a better job than him atm, even if he did score at the weekend. Maybe then we can play 2 strikers and get the ball in the box, Tudgay is very good in the air and I reckon he'd score a few goals if we actually got a few crosses over to him.
