cos he's an unknown quantity and so must be better than what we have. Like Lucas is better than Colgan cos we aint seen his faults either. It's the way some people think. They are probably the same ones who were calling for McParland to be given a chance last season, cos he must be better than Shuker etc.. Jokers.

100% agree with that team Spot on - two weaknesses from yesrday reaplced devaney loses the ball far too much and never beats anyone - he supplied about 3 crosses all game heckingbottom - just awful yesterday and has been for a whilr
I can see that line up being used , too . Although we would have less options in an attacking sense , it may well give us a more solid base defensively with the midfield being packed . Keeping the two wingers on the bench also gives us the option of stretching Sunderland's defence later in the game .
Totally agree But how the hell can he justify having Picard on the bench ??? You may as well have Williams as captain of a Starship !!!
Whatever the team selection we need to play as if we are away from home, like we did against Stoke, if we set out to attack like we did yesterday, we'll leave too much space at the back and they will murder us. Mind you, I think whatever formation/personnel/tactics we emply against Sunderland, the best we can hope for is them having an off day and us scraping a point. Don't get me wrong, I'm an eternal optimist and will be hoping for a great performance, but logic tells me otherwise.
Set out to attack??? We barely mustered a shot in the 1st half.
It was poor set-up of the team that cost us.
Why we decided to try and play the offside trap I have no idea.
We should have stuck with flooding the midfield as we had against Stoke , then hope for the best on the break.

----------------Colgan Hassell-----P Reid-----Nyatanga-----Austin Devaney---Togwell---McCann---K Reid -------------Howard -------------Ferenczi If we dont get a grip on the midfield area we will be beat heavily. Rajczi didnt have a great game yesterday (although there wasnt much service) and you simply cant drop Istvan.
