Ok first of all to all the people slating davey..i think you have a genuine arguement and to the ones saying "wait till the end of the season" etc etc, even if we stay up davey has not done a good job imo.

At the beginning of the season survival was a good result, but based on his money spent and the quality he has brought in i am afraid he has shown some big gaps in his managerial ability. Yes i know hes new to the job but he has to learn quickly and not react in the way he has with players.

    Take his signings for example

Mostto - too much money wasted on him
Oddjob - WWWWWAAAAYYYYY too much money wasted and should have been dropped
Christensson - well who knows whats happened there but again i might be wrong but did he pay £190,000 for him?
Johnson - again missing in action??
Rickets - never given a go
Nardiello - not given enough time

All in theres nearly a million punds worth a bad signings and yes i agree hes made some VERY good signings but a million pound worth of unused strikers is way too much try and defend

Compared to the majority of teams in this division we spent peanuts, If somebody said to you at the beginning of the season would you take staying up and getting to the semi final of the FA cup at wembley, surely every right minded Barnsley fan would snap their hands off. Give Davey time even if we do get relegated which i don't think we will, we have to stick with Davey he is a young manager who is still learning, course he's going to make mistakes but he will learn from them.

As for the strikers what could we have done? Our only option was to gamble on players, we hadn't got the money for a proven goal scorer, you can see why Odejayi was signed he has a big physical presence, quick, and was scoring a few goals at cheltenham granted the gamble hasn't come off quite so well but its our only option.
Mossto needs another try but he was always going to take at least a season to settle think we need to get him back here.
Nobody knows whats up with christenson, he may be *****, he may be lazy, they may have had a bust up who knows? but the times i've seen him he looked no better than Stan.
Rohan Ricketts is not good enough, 1 good performance at morecambe thats it!

Hopefully from this cup run and the eventual sale of Brian Howard we will be able to get a decent, proven goal scorer to play alongside Macken.

I hope your right with the signing of a striker i can see ferenczi leaving in the summer and christenson also and maybe even mostto so he needs to strenghen i dont think sacking him will benefit us in the long run at the minute but based on his signings and wasted money imo he should have performed better.

Still as said sacking him is not an option, but i firmly believe he does himself no favours and needs to communicate more about problems with the players that have not played so at leats we dont have "guess" what has happened.

I think the first choice team - the one with Muller and Anderson Da Silva in it are good enough to get in the play offs next season.

I think that changing managers is a foolish thing to do.

Davey has shown that one day he might be a good manager - and there's nothing more certain consistency of managment pays dividends.

Assuming we survive in this division and the only transfer loss (as opposed to selling KO which would be a gain) is Brian Howard I think we will have a settled and consistent team for next season that will be able to attract a decent striker and play the kind of football we want at Oakwell.

I just hope now that we survive.

true with some players you can say its been money wasted, espcially the likes of Christenson who hasn't even been played often enough, but still don't think we had any other option if we'd have stuck with what w had got both Davey and the board who have been slaughtered, Strikers arn't like any other signings, if we're going to have a goalscorer its either going to be through buying one if the money becomes available to Davey or to just keep gambling on players like we have this year.

I agree that we deserve to know about Christenson, johnson and Ricketts, but i doubt many managers would publicly come out and say we've had a bust up/he's not good enough etc. Could these questions not be asked at the supporters trust?

In the summer we're going to need 2 midfielders one to play wide and one in the middle. Plus 2 strikers 1 goal scorer and one young quick lad and maybe keep Nardiello depending on price. Many fans will probably disagree with me about Nardiello but say what you like about him the boy can finish and when his heads screwed on right he is a very good player i.e. Back end of last season, he would be a good squad player next year even so.

    hard decisions for Mr Davey!

Assuming we stay in this division, and I believe we will.

Simon must look at the squad in the summer and say to himself.

Who will I NOT pick, for whatever reason! Get rid, get them off the wage bill and free up the squad numbers.

He is learning and will make more mistakes, the ones this year have been cheap - didnt we pay 1.5 mil on hristov ten years ago?

Then try again to fill the places and have class battling class for the same position.

When we get to this position, we will be competing as we all want to be.

De Silva and Muller's injurys are unfortunate, but hopefully lessons have been learnt from that.

There have been positives this year remember - De Silva / Muller / Macken / Souza / Foster. All permanent & positive improvements to the squad.

Lets not be too down yet!

    Too many re-builds

This club has definately had too many re-builds over the last seven years which has left us on the brink of financial ruin at least once and brought limited success (One play-off win and a FA Cup semi-final). Surely we need to attempt some form of consistency with managers and see how it turns out, cause the one year a manager option has worked out and cost loads of money. Think of the amount of money we have wasted on sacking managers?

If only Steve Parkin had been given time :$

    nads feeling wanted...

I've noticed that during the warm ups he often comes out on his own and warms up on his own.

Just wonder if he doesn't get on with the rest of the squad.

the thing about Muller and de silva is...

if you took the the number one keeper and midfielder out of any of the top 6 sides, chances are they would still be there or there abouts, so why are we so good with them but so crap with out them??
