Just in case anyone fancies reading this and didn't see this last night amongst the mayhem... More pertinent than ever after last night I would say.

Paddy was actually given the nickname 'Derry Pele' by Derry fans, oddly enough. Other than than it's a good piece for team Paddy, but as Danny and any right-minded supporter knows, it's not as black & white as Toilers vs Laikers. I agree he will be far more effective playing from the start.

Surely got to play Saturday . Shea was average again last night . Doesn't look interested in the game and offers very little to the team , his passing and shooting was abysmal last night . Can't believe stoke played 2.5 million for him

Very much enjoyed the article and a pretty spot on assessment. I'd say Paddy for good or bad is our only hope. Not picking him is like having a jag in the garage and getting everywhere by Ford Ka.

I'd liked to agree but only if we can be assured which McCourt is going to turn up. So far, I think I have seen more downers than uppers. I don't question his ability, but his commitment leaves a lot to be desired. First game he was begging for the ball every second but I have not seen that since, mores the pity. Danny sees him every day in training and we don't so I will leave it up to him.

Mr Wilson's handling of this particular situation is doing serious harm to the high esteem I held him in before his return. His refusal to play the only genuine game-changer we have at the club (including Jennings who, as far as I can recall, has not actually created that much let alone scored), is the most frustrating contributor the fact that we look like being relegated without a whimper. I'll say again, and echo what others have said (the more discerning ones anyway), the only enjoyable aspect of this sorry season has been the bits of magic created by Paddy McCourt. For Wilson to coninue largely ignoring him in our current plight is perverse.

Paddy McCourt is the most skilful player we've had in years. In my opinion, we're a better, more dangerous team with him playing than when he's not. I enjoy watching him, and players of his ilk, play far more than the less talented runners, athletes & toilers who are awash in the modern game.

If Paddy had started every game since Danny came in, in which way would the results have been worse?

Exactly, the sides he's been selecting have won one game so far.
