Thought we looked ok in first 20 and matched Wigans work rate. The quality of their side prevailed in the end and we just got poorer and poorer as the game went on. Ben Watson pulled the strings all game with nobody getting close to him as the first goal proved. Flicker got it tactically wrong today in my opinion as we had no width and had no answer to counter Wigans 4-3-3. Did we play bad? I'd say I have seen far worse but what I will say is that we we're outclassed in every department. Jennings losing his head made the game into a "must not concede no more goals" kinda games. I can't pick a player out that was abysmal though and I still think that its only a blip and will not start moaning and blaming the staff or players. It's never nice to lose but on occasions like this, you just have to take your hat off to the opposition and say "well done". The only gripe i have is that we didn't seem to change anything while we still had 11 players on the field. I don't have the answer to what would have worked but i would have liked to have seen a plan B but in another breath, I suppose Jennings getting sent off made that even more impossible to imploy. All in all, a bad afternoon but hey ho, theres always next week to put it right.
