First half I thought we were comfortably the better team. I thought Coventry looked much less dangerous and to have less ideas than the standard of opposition we've faced recently in the Championship. Our midfield worked hard to break up play, particularly JOB and Dawson and whilst it wasn't pretty and we didn't create much, Coventry posed no threat whatsoever. The goal interestingly was a breath of fresh air for me as a different type of attack; a long, route one pass from Mvoto which JOB latched on to and finished clinically. Cywka had a great shot from the edge of the area that was a cm or so away from going in instead of rebounding out from the inside of the post. I was pretty happy at half time. Unfortunately, I feel Wilson has a lot to answer for for the second half. Taking off O 'Grady (who never looked remotely like scoring, but was almost an advanced holding midfielder) was a mistake as Pedersen, however good a finisher, barely even saw the ball. Scotland is no longer a threat at this level and I'm at a loss to think why he came on for Perkins at the time he did. It wasn't pretty but we were winning the match and it didn't need to be. I felt like their second looked as though Steele was slow coming off his line which is something he's been good at. The goal wasn't his fault, I was just disappointed he didn't narrow the angle. I think Danny Wilson had a poor game personally, regardless of his overall performance as manager. We could have easily won today
Pretty fair assessment especially about the standard of the opposition. Generally we looked that fraction of a second quicker, but our changes really hindered us. But I expect wailing and screaming and gnashing of teeth from the posters about how we're the worst team ever and we're doomed. For what it's worth, I think we will go down, but having seen one of the divisions best teams today, I'm confident that we'd bounce back with the squad we've got.
