Well, its difficult to write what I feel about today's events. I'm a fully paid up member of the "give him time" camp. That said, its been disheartening to watch recent performances, increasingly difficult to defend Danny. That's my biggest dissapointment - the performances, the general lack of entertainment and no regular sign of just battling. The results, to me, were pretty secondary for this season after what I'd watched for the previous 3 seasons. The club has a lot to answer. At board level, they've got to decide what they want and stick to it. I was sold a strategy of stability, patience, youth, and so on, and measured against their own benchmark, the board have panicked. If they're sacking Wilson based on current league position, it's against their own strategy. The comment about 6th largest wage bill is a bit of a double edged sword. I suspect, and can only speculate, that the biggest 4 or 5 are miles ahead of everyone else and we are marginally ahead of the rest. Either that, or a small pocket of our squad are on a lot of dosh. I'm at an age where its the company of long term friends, and my young lad, who keep me interested in Barnsley FC and are as important to the day as theI've little time for the wider game. Machin's regime finished my Dad off. He's never returned to Oakwell. At the time, I couldn't see how someone who'd gone every other week for 45 years could stop overnight. Since 2006, I've gradually understood him. I will keep supporting the team but we've got to get out of this cycle of short term reactive planning. I'd have stuck with Danny come what may, as dissapointing as the performances have been, on the basis of constant change putting us where we are. I'm sure I've read a quote somewhere that states that "foolish" can be described as trying the same failing thing over and over again in the hope it will eventually work. The dictionary entry now reads - "also see Barnsley FC 2000-2015" Good luck Danny, and the same to your replacement.
