It was a great day up until kick off! wembley looks an impressive stadium but even when fans we're singing atmosphere didn't carry, couldn't believe the time I had to queue for a pee at half time either....... Coming away from the match I was gutted to say the least and dissapointed by the lack of urgency from all players (both sides). I thought it was a very nervous performamce from our boys especially in central midfield and attack. We gave away possession far to easily and simply lacked quality up front. To cut along story short I didn't have a good word to say. So comming out of the ground player ratings as follows: 5 Steele - looked nervy early doors but made to good saves in second half 5 Kozluk - good in first half but gradually faded 6 Souza - pretty solid performance unlucky not to score with header 5 Foster - decent game, was lucky to get away with slip up in second half 6 Van Homeot - suprisingly one of his better games 6 JCR - worked hard 5 Howard - did he play? where was he when we needed him most thought he was invisible today. 4 Hassell - said it time and time again he is NOT A MIDFIELDER! did well defending corners etc, but gave away possession int middle. 6 Devaney - yet again supplied the amo for the strikers, but fact is they are ****! 4 Ferenczi - big fan of stan but didn't seem to get into the game at all 3 Odejayi - big, powerful and quick. But lets face it this kid aint a footballer! ---- 5 Coulson - tried but made little impact 4 Leon - sloppy on the ball ? Butterfield - hard to judge. got in good positions but no one seemed to want to pass ball to him. ---------- Its strange but watchin game again on sky I've got to give the boys more credit..... they gave it much more, and weren't all that bad. Howard had a decent game, Hassell wasn't as bad as all that and Odejayi put him self about. But we all know work rate doesn't win games! Cardiff were there for the taking and the fact is we had the chances to win but didn't take them. I have no doubt if we had a Hasselbank we would be in final. Fact is we've got KO and we are not. How he got 17 goals for Cheltenham last season is beyond me, Ferenczi is a work horse as is Macken. But where is our goalscorer, the 20 goal a season man? we haven't had one since Craig Hignett and look what a season we had then. Please don't say Nardiello! I appreciate what he has done for us in the past, but he will never be that man. For starters he's never fit enough for Championship, or strong enough or consistent enough and he spends far to much time on the injury table. Coulson is good prospect but needs games and its questionable whether he can step up to this level and become a regular. Christensen is a big lad and has scored regular in reserves, but so did KO and Mostto but he at least deserves a chance. Team vs Watford Steele Hassell, Nyatanga, Souza, Kozluk JCR, Togwell, Howard, Devaney Macken, Coulson Subs: Letheren, Van Homeot, Leon, Ferenczi, Butterfield Foster played withe injury yesterday, we don't need another long term injury to a big player! ----------------
Bit unfair on Odejayi OK he missed that one on one with the keeper but Michael Owen's missed plenty of them. Thought he was our most threatening player so to give him the lowest mark overall is unfair to me. Unless you're docking him 2 or 3 points for the miss alone.
ive read most peoples posts this morning and i understand where most are coming from. but got to agree most with what you have printed my own views are we tried our best but imafraid up front we just arnt good enough but where do we get someone who is good enough that we can afford?
