The next time the league managers association or whatever bring up unfair treatment of managers the case of Lee Johnson ought to be brought up.
Here we have a guy whose chairman and club had stood by him and backed him through (with the odd exception) some of the shittest football we have ever seen, this then ran into one of the lousiest longest run of defeats that most of us could remember. All this in the face of the majority of fans calling for his head but no the club stood firm. We then have a run of decent results and Johnson shows absolutely zilch loyalty and looks to jump ship at the first opportunity.
Now I agree that in most careers you would argue that if a better opportunity came up you would take it but I would argue there were exceptional circumstances here given what had gone before!
Another way of looking at it is that he left Oldham having achieved very little and seems to be doing the same with us, and for a club like Bristol City ffs, no offence to them but they are in a poor situation and could in all probability be back in league 1 next year. Would that mean that he would be off again as soon as another Championship club waggled its finger at him? From his point of view what if he fails at Bristol, who will want him? he obviously has no intention of building anything long term anywhere, unless he makes Arsenal or Barcelona. (I know there's the argument of would a fan move given the same opportunity but these guys are not paid peanuts and at the end of the day why bother having a contract at all)
Either way even if he turns down Bristol City I would fk him off asap, after all what's the point of having someone who shows no loyalty, the players can't trust him ( hardly helps recruitment or retention) the fans certainly can't. Lests have somebody in with some morals instead.

Good post, but didn't we agree to let him talk with bcfc and then issue a statement saying that we have a good enough succession plan to allow him to go. I do think the football managers association jump on clubs when they sack managers, maybe they need to give a honourable mention to us here.

Maybe Cryne is looking at him as a saleable asset like he would Winnall. If a decent offer comes in, he can go.

To my mind, I think we should be building a squad of 21 year olds on 3 year contracts who can win 6 games on the spin, and next year or the year after will be even better. All with the same manager overseeing things.
