I am resonably happy with our current league position.

Accepted that we have not performed as desired in some of the matches this season but at the end of the day we are there or thereabouts in terms of league position.

I think we can definately improve and hopefully the introduction of howard will increase competition for places along with the impending debut of Kell who may turn out to be just what the doctor ordered and shake things up in the midfield area.

Are we good enough to get out of this decision?

Yes we are, 70% of the teams are also capable of doing so as the table shows. There are no outstanding teams in this division and we will struggle with out current squad in the championship which is where I think Ritchie is coming from. I would maybe expect to be trying to avoid relegation should we escape this division this season. If we can survive for two seasons in the championship then we should aim for mid table and slowly increase the quality of talent we employ. In the meantime maybe our youth scouts should start to expand their search area maybe look abroad in order to speed up the flow of youngsters. I also do believe that we are short of talent in our youth coaching ranks.

Commercially I think that BFC are too slow in adapting to moern trends and need to introduce some fresh ideas into the retailing sides and also with relations with local businesses. I also think that the club are far too slow to introduce the good ideas that they do have..

Pricing...We have to understand that we are a league 1 club at the moment and that we have teams close to us playing in a higher division with maybe a higher standard of football, the club should be doing their upmost to ensure that they do not lose support because of our ticket pricing structure. I am a firm believer of using a rolling model to set a maximum price of a season ticket with firm reductions based on the volume of tickets sold.. We are far more likely to attract numbers with cheaper tickets even if we only hit a desired target. To operate this is not rocket science plus the club will have the benefit of promoting other items within the ground once they have a captive audience. The catering needs to be reviewed and prices brought down to a more reasonable level. Included within a season ticket book should be vouchers entitling the holder to massively discounted league cup tickets for at least the first two rounds if we are home. We then need to encourage a good away following by the club securing a more lucrative contract with a bus company to offer a reasonably cheap way of attending matches. Again you could offer massive discounts to season ticket holders who are the lifeblod of the club. In all BFC have to make it difficult for the everyday person to say no to a season ticket in place of buying a match ticket now and again!!

I firmly believe that we will make the play offs this season. Beyond that I do not know, just have hope!

"Are we good enough to get out of this decision? "

    :pff

The teams around us in higher divisions also have cheaper season tickets!!!!!

Towards the back end of this season im deffo going to put that spreadsheet together for the "fill oakwell campaign". The idea i had preseason about selling muck cheao season tickets if we sold 16K for example. If the club really do want to make football accessible to the whole community then they have to listen if its all down there in black and white! Did it too late last year with no figures to back it up.

    ci thi at dinner kermy!

Omen: You were the one with that fantastic idea about the cheap season tickets, then?

I've been banging on about that for ages, but I couldn't remember who had come up with the concept in the first place.

Definitely tell the club! Great stuff!

I actually posted on the old board the idea about a rolling price dependant on numbers well before the prices were announced last season. I have even built a working model to demonstrate to the club if they are willing to listen.
