Interested in views on this, a bit radical....and for that reason with our FA it will NEVER happen but..

Is it about time we looked beyond the Premier League so called 'stars' and built an England team from players specifically outside the top flight?

It seems the top players loyalties are with their clubs, that's the only 'team' they know. The likes of Kane, Sterling etc who undoubtedly have talent need that something else to win tournaments, it lacking in abundance. In their daily club environment they will not be exposed to the same type of pressure lower league players face.

How about an England team selected only from outside the riches of the Premier League? Give the opportunity to players who haven't yet reached the dizzy heights?

Not really thought about the finer details, but it would be interesting to see your England XI made up players outside the Prem that you think would do well in a tournament. Also pick a manager to lead them.....over to you guys.

I just want a manager to say my formation is so & so who then goes & picks 2 players who play that role regularly for each position. No one out of position. No one unfit. A settled formation, a team where virtually everyone can name it unless there's injuries & suspensions

No, terrible idea, infact up there alongside the lad on fb I saw the other day proposing we charge the players £50k per game to play for England.

What we need is a strong, no nonsense manager who is willing to work with the young players to establish what he expects from them going forward from here. There has never been a problem with the talent we have available but we have never had a sufficient manager, particularly over this last 15 years where PL players have moved into unbelievable wealth.

Fergie or Mourinho would have won 2 or 3 tournaments with our pool of players over the last 15 years. Right now, step forward Pochettino.

Before this tournament I might have agreed with you, but seriously mate this is a cultural and mindset problem not a managerial one, 100%.

We'll never know because what I suggest won't ever happen, nobody's got the balls to try it. All I know is managerial changes have not worked for donkeys years. Got to be time to try something different surely?

Yeh because we have a bunch of middle aged businessmen who in their own words "arent football men" choosing our managers. Sven wasted the best group of players ever assembled on the international scene, McLaren did even worse and then came Capello who was useless. Had we have appointed the right man, we'd have won at least one major tourament, probably the 2006 WC or 2008 Euros.

People say Noooo when Big Sam is mentioned. We're not Spain (Tika Taka) not Italy 3 at back. Let's play the British way and if we lose we lose. Looking at latest odds I'd take. Hoddle or big Sam. No chance we'm get Wenger

Id hate to get Wenger. Settles for mediocrity and truely believes its an achievement. If it was to be an Englishman I'd go for Eddie Howe but my clear favourite is Pochettino.

Handed England a penalty in 2002 when he hacked down Owen

Wenger has had 20 years at one of the biggest clubs in Europe with pretty much unlimited resources, whether he's spent them or not, for the last 7/8 years. He's won nothing important for 12 years now. Pochettino is at the other end of his managerial career. He's young, vibrant and has his teams playing in the same way. He's already managed a lot of our best young players who all seem to have thrived under him and he's only going to get better.

Whoever is appointed they will have the same players to pick from. The FA should save their money and cap the salary at £1m. Give it to Hoddle and stop thinking the problem is in the dugout.

The problem is 100% and always has been in the dug out.

I've been listening to the radio a lot today and all I am hearing is Hoddle, Redknapp and f**king Wenger. Any of these would be terrible appointments.

Whoever we appoint we know it'll be somebody completely left wing who is undeserving of the position, as is usually the case. A yes man. LVG springs to mind. Lets get Harry Kane playing as a left wing back.

Corbyn won't get the job. ;)

Seriously though I really think big Sam is the best man for job but he won't be anywhere near the shortlist. It will be some yes man and nothing will change.

As I've said a few times, I'm wanting Pochettino. An englishman in an ideal world but I dont see anyone who's upto it.

If England were in danger of relegation I'd get in a relegation specialist like Allardyce. If we want to compete to win summat it's less easy to pick someone. English maybe Eddie Howe. Non English Pochettino but doubt whether he would be even vaguely interested.
