Couldn't be bothered posting on every thread either agreeing or disagree so just thought I'd post my entire opinion as, after all that is what football and this forum is all about! First of all I agree with most that today was rubbish and in parts boring! We never really created anything and there was just nothing to get excited about! However! Unlike some I do like the formation and I would stick with it and allow the players to grow into it! I also liked that we did try and perform some nice passing movements at times! Also, I felt that the defence looked really strong and weren't actually troubled that much! Davis made some good saves but they were saves I think everyone in the ground expected him to make! And all that is considering we had two kids as wingbacks! I also think Roberts needs a shout out he looks very assured!! As for the players I think we have really good players at the club! The back three look beyond solid in my opinion, and I felt scowen and Pearson are a fantastic partnership and did awesome today! We've then got several good creative options in front of them! My only concerns are with the wingbacks! Although I rate bree and smith they are both young and bree is injury prone! I also felt we needed more people to run with the ball and feed the strikers (JOS or a fit Williams was needed) and finally we need a big striker to hold up play! However with wabara signing and talks of JOS and smith it's clear the manager also knows this and all three seem like what would be good signings to me! All in all I took more positives than negatives from today! Like I said we were rubbish but I think with a few more addition and the players getting used to the formation and each other! I can only see us getting significantly better! I'd also like to give a final shout out to Johnson! I like how he apologised to fans in his post match interview! You'd never hear hill doing that would you! He seems to know what he's doing and with this very talented squad I think it'll all come together by The end of the month! We just need to be calm, patient and supportive! CIME ON YOU REDS!!!!
Another good sign for this young bunch is that we managed to grind out a win and clean sheet from a mostly poor performance.... Like you say give them a few games to adjust to the formation and new recruits and let's see where they can take us!!!
