Firstly, I thought we were rubbish last night, Saturday and last Tuesday. However I do agree that we are not helping the team in anyway, shape or form by booing, shouting abuse, and as a crowd massive shouts not to pass it back isnt going to encourage our team to succeed. On the 2 occasions that I we have cheered them on, their game has improved slightly. That was the lat 5 mins of Southampton game and about 10 mins last night at the beginning of second half. I think that KH wasn't impressed with the players last night, but was more annoyed by the crowd and decided to give that interview. He is clearly is saying back the team, help them build confidence and they will improve. Im not saying all is rosey! I have seen every match so far and we don't look good! We need a strong midfielder, we need to organise the defence and we really need to score. But I do think that we will improve. I think that we need to accept the fact, that as a fan we can voice our opinions, but how we do it may affect how the players and manager re-act, and it may not be a positive re-action. If someone screams abuse at you at your work, would you work harder? or think bol%*ks to them and do less?
The Fans WERE cheering; we were a goal up (and the the Sun came out over the top of the West Stand). Less than 10 minutes later we were losing. I don't really follow Keith Hill's logic in regards this "negativity"...
Until now I've been totally behind the Hillcroft appointment, but last night's interview angered me. I agree with a lot of his comments re negativity and it being a good thing to be playing the next two games away from home (although I don't think it'll do anything to win over his critics). What has angered me is the fact that he refused to criticise the players and/or his tactics in last night's interview and simply put it down to us losing to a better team. I sincerely hope, away from the heat of the moment, that he backtracks or withdraws those comments. If he can't find fault in things, other than the negative atmosphere, for last night's performance then how can we have any realistic expectation that things will change or improve, as they obviously need to do. Given the resources he's been given to work with, and the forlorn prospect of any signficant personnel changes in the squad, are we simply meant to accept that 46 instances of 'being beaten by the better team' is a valid excuse, given that just about every other team in this league has more resources/a more supportive board available to them?
How many games in did the booing start? 1st home game was it? **** me, if it's that bad dont turn up.
