Think this a massive thing for us and should be seen as much, taking into account the current economic constraints, mortgages, petrol, interest rates etc, for a club to freeze ticket prices is commendable but to lower them is brilliant,

I don't buy a season ticket just because I go to all the home games and like my regular seat, there's more to it, like really supporting your club and taking pride in being able to say, im a season ticket holder, my support goes to one place. Also when signing come to the club, you can feel like you have contributed a tiny part of that.

I also don't begrudge other people getting a freebie especially the kids who should get to go free all the time, was only thinking the other day about sections of the west stand empty and why they were not given free to kids clubs around the borough. This isn't just to fill the seat, there is massive long term implications in making policies like this, for instance its for want of a better word brainwashing the kids of Barnsley to have affinity to their towns football club, instead of Chelsea, Man Utd, Sky Sports etc

Taking a kid to any game early in their lives effects them forever, to make the club strong, and the real beauty of the new pricing structure, is getting the kids in, cos you will find that some of them will stay, and they will bring their mates etc.

We need to monopolise Barnsley as a 1 team town, and you go and get every kid in Barnsley and make them Barnsley fans, Id even be inclined to reduce the shirts to £20 for season tickets holders and get the whole town geared out, wearing new shirts, going to games, utopia.

Also makes Wednesday look proper **** as their season tickets are now £10,000 a pair!!!!

In my mind I'm £40 better off

£20 Shirts for Season Ticket Holders ...

Lovely notion but I doubt that there'd be any profit for the club.

Shame really. When they went above £30 I stopped getting them. If they were at £20 I'd definately get one.

That my friend is the best idea i've read on here in weeks. Saving 43 pence a game on a season ticket makes it hardly worth putting down in the first place. An half price replica shirt (or even a tenner off) with every season ticket sold (on production of a special match voucher) would be great. More Tarn shirts around town is great free advertising.
