well done Barnsley Football Club, Ticketmaster and Wembley. Since Hammill put that penalty in at Fleetwood all those weeks ago it's just been good. For me the club made things simple and easy for people with a great way for people to get tickets ..... Ticket master made a stressful situation very easy and I had Match and coach tickets booked and paid for by 8.30 on the first day. At 8.30 in 2008 all I got was the cold and no tickets within sight. I got from Yorkshire to Wembley in about 3 hours 40 minutes plus a service stop of about 45 minutes. Very good. I was sat at level 2 in Wembley and it was great. not sure what it was like for those below or above but it was nice. Went to the toilets at half time and there was plenty. okay it took a couple of minutes to get in but hey, plenty of people need a piss. Just a massive well done and the templates down for the future.
I can't believe that the two of you are praising the club and Ticketmaster after what was a farce from start to finish on the ticketing front
Well it was wasn't it? No support from the club for problems, no support from ticketmaster, worst seats sold first, wrong prices charged, website that crashed, tickets not sent out till JUST before Christmas, people who bought tickets first sent out last. Really don't know how that can be praised
Maybe it wasn't a farce for him? It wasn't for me. I logged on at Midday on the first day of sale, and bought tickets within 5 minutes. The seats I got, were where I wanted, and gave me and the people I went with a fantastic view. Wembley itself was fantastic with a warm welcoming staff. I do question the length of time that it took for tickets to arrive, but otherwise it was a very simple and painless process. I do also remember having to get up early and take 4 hours off work to queue outside Oakwell, being replaced by my now departed Mother who stood and queued another 3 hours to get seats for Liverpool. I know which system I prefer.
But I'm not selfish enough to think that if something was good for me then it is acceptable for others to be messed around. And I'll tell you what is like to see. A system where you can do it online OR in person. A system that in all honesty we all know COULD exist had they chosen to adopt it
Neither am I. But there's also nothing wrong with praising something that you've had a good experience of, if that's the way you've found it. I wouldn't really go as far as to praise Ticketmaster, because I'm aware of those difficulties that others had, but I did find this system tons better than the previous arrangements.
Not had a single ounce of trouble from the very begining. You crack on with your usual diatribe though
I got the tickets in the block I wanted pre the tickets going on sale. I was with my Granddad yesterday and he struggles to walk after a certain distance. I thought with him not going in 2008 I would take him upto the Bobby Moore stature. Anyway He was struggling at that point so I went to the Bobby Moore enterence and told them we we're meant to go in Club Wembley Main said no problem come though here. A few checks on the way we were in our area. On way out told them we came through that way and wanted to use the escalators and they said no problems and let us through Honestly had to try and look at things not the way I would yesterday and it was good. No problems.
I am if we manage to get there. The club will have learnt from (understandable) mistakes this time round with ticketing and it should be better
Got to be honest, barring the order the tickets went on sale, i thought things were done well. We did have a spot of trouble(caused by an oversight on our part) where the tickets were sent to our old address, and we simply called the number the club gave us, and within 5 minutes of picking up the phone, the old tickets were cancelled, and new ones were printed for us. From there, everything was rosey! Obviously not everyone had as good an experience as we did, but as long as the clubs administration can learn from the niggles, then things will be great for the play off final(i know, wishful thinking)
Who says you have to get tickets first if you buy them first? Doesn't happen for any other type of purchase like gig tickets etc. Seems a strange thing to get upset about.
