Anyone named their kids / pets after BFC players?

We once had a cat called Alan (when Alan Clarke was the manager)

Think we also had a litter of pups. One was definitely called Big Phil (after Phil Chambers), and I think there was also Joe (Joyce) , and possibly a Ronnie.

I know a lovely bloke who named his dog Archie, after Owen Archdeacon.

Sounds a bit iffy to me.

When I was a nipper I had a budgie. Called him Georgie after Mr Hristov. Realise now how ironic it was to have had a bird from Barnsley named after the fella.

Meet our dog Toby. We are nothing if not predictable in our house. Then again can you imagine shouting out 'Frimpong' in the local park! image.jpg

I somehow managed to convince my Wife to add the name Daisy to my daughters Rachel Emma so she would have the initials RED. I still can't believe I got away with that and I pray my little girl doesn't hold it against me when she realises.

That is quite brilliant. Well done.

I did contrive to give birth to our 2nd daughter during a SWFC v BFC game, which considering my husband is a Wednesday fan, is quite an achievement. We had Deedar FM on in the delivery suite, and whilst we lost (obviously), the first thing that happened after she was delivered was a goal (Robbie Williams penalty) for Barnsley. If she had been a boy, I think I'd have had to have gone with Robbie!

My mam named our goldfish 'Bruce' after Bruce Dyer. He lived 12 years too, best fish ever (if that's such a thing), all the others only lasted a year.
