this game backs up everything I have ever said....

shuker, what does it take for this lad to be dropped. apart from 1 or 2 passes never found a red shirt. lost the ball countless times, and in 1st half, he lost it 3 times which gave them their 3 attacks.
I know he aint a defender either, but could have at least attempted to stick a boot out before trundle got in the box. Absolute waste of time....

Now then, how many of you still want to slag nardiello off.

    fair one but..

until the arrival of mcparland and i s'pose nix who could have replaced him, don't think ritvhie had many options, plus, he has shown he can do the business...

    What do you mean?

I think most Nardiello critics (myself included) dont doubt his talent.

He is the most frustrating player we have - If he could reliably contribute like today he would be one of the first names on the team sheet, but the truth is he hasnt.

Most of the criticism has been justified. One swallow doesnt make a summer and all that.

I will be delighted if he has suddenly found some form and play well for the rest of the season. It could happen - I was very critical of Colgan last season - he is a changed player now

I know what you are trying to say...

    but.

truth is, he will score, today proved it.

    WHEN he gets a start,

his record for STARTING speaks for itself, how many times has he been brought on with 5 mins left, whilst we are losing, backs against the wall etc.

I know he is frustrating with his offsides, but, he is there for one thing, to put the ball in the net, now how many of us say he can't do that. If this can be proved to me then I will join the nads is **** bandwagon. Until then, he is still the best finsher at the club.

    "Rub peoples noses in"

    About what exactly?

Nardiello had a good game....in the past he's had bad games.

Still gets caught offside a lot though!

    I feel sorry for nardiello

A lot of his offsides are down to bad refereeing because quite often he isnt offside when the ball is played but he times his runs so well that by the time the linesman looks up he is 5 yards in front of the defender.

Quite a lot of the time when he is actually offside it is because he has made a good run but our midfield/defence has needed to take an extra touch to pass the ball and this means he is offside by the time the pass is made. This isnt necessarily anybody's fault it is just because he is so different to richards, wright and hayes and the rest of the team is used to having to make a different kind of pass.

Of course sometimes he is just stood offside for reasons known only by himself.

    that is 100% spot on.

its funny, but I don't think he was offside once when the pass came from Mcphail. (or I can't remember one at least).

I don't think Nardiello is ***** - I have been quite a critic of his because I know he can do better than he does, that he is lazy and doesn't seem to understand the offside rule. However today he had a good game.

Shuker has been poor recently, although he played ok today, again though not up to his usual standards.

Devaney had a shocker today, yet for people around me to be shouting for him to be taken off because "he's *****" after only 15 mins beggars belief when he is easily one of the main contenders for player of the season.

A lot of his offsides are because he's stood offside - the one in the 1st half that had half the East Stand on their feet complaining about it....me and my mate couldn't believe it cause he was about 4 yards off when the ball was played but didn't look off when it got to him

that was very well put mate.

thought we were on for an argy bargy their.

    agree with what you say.

devaney had a shocker I know, and so did shuker, the only difference was I think, imagine it being 90th minute and 2-2. People would still be confident that devaney could have still done something even after playing like that for most of the game, whilst shuker, don't think anyone would have any confidence that he can do anything at the minute,

the same could be said about hayes, richards and wright though

they have all been guilty of standing offside.

Nardiello does it more frequently, I think everybody knows that, but it is because his style of play is about pushing the defensive line, it only takes the linesman to miss it once and he's in on goal.

The other three all have their merits too and them playing deeper helps out the defence but sometimes a player like nardiello is needed because that one chance that might be created from him getting behind the defence could mean the difference between 0-0 and 1-0.
